Live + 7 Day Ratings: ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" Emerges as TV's #1 Broadcast of the Week in Adults 18-49
Live + 7 Day Ratings for the week of 3/18/13 (Week #26):
Based on Nielsen's TV playback data for the week, ABC's Grey's Anatomy picked up an additional +1.5 rating points to emerge as TV's #1 broadcast program of the week in Adults 18-49 (4.5 rating). In the final Live + 7 day numbers, the ABC drama moved out of a tie with CBS' Criminal Minds (4.4), while leapfrogging over CBS' NCIS (4.4) and Fox's American Idol-Weds (4.3) to finish the week as the highest-rated broadcast among young adults. The ABC drama had inched past the Thursday edition of American Idol by 1-tenth of a rating point to stand as the night's #1 show for the first time ever in the Live + Same Day numbers, towering over the Fox program by more than a full rating point in the final Live + 7 Day ratings (+1.1 rating points - 4.5 vs. 3.4).
ABC's Castle was the week's biggest overall broadcast gainer via time shifted-viewing for the first time ever, adding 4.0 million viewers to its Live + Same Day tally (15.24 million).
· Among Adults 18-49, ABC saw 4 shows add on at least a full rating point to their first-reported Live + Same Day numbers: Grey's Anatomy (+1.5 rating points), Castle (+1.1 rating points), Scandal (+1.0 rating points) and Once Upon a Time (+1.0 rating points).
· ABC had 4 shows growing by at least 2.5 million viewers over their originally reported L+SD numbers: Castle (+4.00 million), Grey's Anatomy (+3.12 million), Body of Proof (+3.08 million) and Scandal (+2.61 million).
