The police investigation exposed her husband Joe Caronna's double life, which included a history of financial fraud and a mistress. The mistress wore a wire to help police. Close friends of the family would ultimately provide a key piece of information that helped lead to the arrest and prosecution of Joe Caronna for his wife's murder.
