UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - February 20, 2013 - NBC has delivered a 1.3 rating, 4 share in adults 18-49 and 4.4 million viewers overall for the primetime ratings week of February 11-17, according to "live plus same day" viewing data from Nielsen Media Research.
NBC's top shows last week included "The Biggest Loser" and "The Office," both of which averaged a 2.0 rating in adults 18-49, and "Chicago Fire." which averaged a 1.9.
Primetime averages for the week of February 11-17 in adults 18-49 are: Fox, 2.1/6; CBS, 1.9/5; ABC, 1.8/5; NBC, 1.3/4; and CW, 0.6/2. In overall total viewers, the weekly averages were: CBS, 8.8 million; Fox, 6.6 million; ABC, 6.1 million; NBC, 4.4 million; and CW, 1.5 million.
Season to date averages through eight weeks are: CBS, 3.2/9; NBC, 2.7/7; Fox, 2.5/7; ABC, 2.2/6; and CW, 0.7/2. In overall total viewers, the season averages are: CBS, 12.6 million; NBC, 7.8 million; ABC, 7.7 million; Fox, 7.0 million; and CW, 1.9 million.
NBC highlights for the week of February 11-17
Monday: "Deception" (1.2 rating, 3 share in adults 18-49, 3.2 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET) grew week to week by 9 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.2 from a 1.1) and 5 percent in total viewers (3.2 million vs. 3.1 million).
Tuesday: "Betty White's Off Their Rockers" (1.1/3 in 18-49, 4.8 million viewers overall with an 8 p.m. ET encore; 1.3/4 in 18-49, 4.9 million viewers overall with an 8:30 original) ranked #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in those time periods in total viewers.
NBC News analysis of the State of the Union ranked #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 and 25-54 with a 1.6/4 in 18-49, a 2.0 rating in 25-54 and 5.8 million viewers overall from 10:16-10:30 p.m. ET and a 1.0/3 in 18-49, a 1.3 in 25-54 and 4.2 million viewers overall from 10:44-11 p.m. Coverage of the speech itself was sustaining and is not included in nightly or weekly averages, though NBC delivered the biggest audience during the speech (6.5 million viewers) of any broadcast or cable network covering the event, and was also #1 in adults 18-49 (1.7 rating) and adults 25-54 (2.3).
Wednesday: "Chicago Fire" (1.9/5 in 18-49, 6.6 million viewers overall) tied for the time-period win among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 and moved head to lead the 10:30 half-hour outright among those networks.
For a sixth consecutive original telecast, "Chicago Fire" matched or beat its premiere 1.9 rating from last fall, while among all other new dramas this season on ABC, CBS and NBC and Fox, only Fox's "The Following" has matched or beaten its premiere 18-49 rating even once.
At 9 p.m. ET, "Law & Order: SVU" (1.5/4 in 18-49, 6.4 million viewers overall) jumped week to week by 22 percent in total viewers (6.4 million vs. 5.2 million). The February 13 telecast of "SVU" grew form its first half-hour to its second in every key ratings category, including gains of 21 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.7 from a 1.4) and 26 percent in total viewers (6.6 million vs. 5.2 million).
Thursday: "The Office" (2.0/6 in 18-49, 4.1 million viewers overall from 9-10:01 p.m. ET) matched NBC's highest rating in the time period, excluding sports, since November 8. In the time period, "The Office" is #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in men 18-34 and #2 in men 18-49 and 25-54.
At 8:30 p.m. ET, "Parks and Recreation" (1.5/5 in 18-49, 3.2 million viewers overall) built on its lead-in by 25 percent in 18-49 rating and by 15 percent in total viewers.
Friday: "Dateline NBC" (1.3/4 in 18-49, 6.7 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET) ranked #1 in its time period in total viewers and #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54. For its first hour from 8-9 p.m., "Dateline" tied for #1 among those networks in 18-49 and 25-54 and was #1 outright in total viewers.
Saturday: "American Ninja Warrior" (0.6/2 in 18-49, 1.9 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) ranked #1 in the time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults, men and women 18-34.
Sunday: An encore telecast of "Saturday Night Live in the '90s: Pop Culture Nation" (1.4/4 in 18-49, 4.0 million viewers overall from 9-11 p.m. ET) scored NBC's top 18-49 and total-viewers results in the time period with non-sports programming since the Golden Globe Awards on January 13. For its second hour from 10-11 p.m., "Saturday Night Live in the '90s" ranked #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 and other key demos.
