ABC Wins Friday Over Premieres on the Other Nets
ABC won Friday in Adults 18-49 over season premiere/series debut programming on the other nets, outdelivering NBC by 14%, CBS by 23% and Fox by 60%. ABC's Shark Tank was the #1 TV show of the night in Adults 18-49. Up 7% week to week, the Net matched its top-rated Friday since November 9, 2012.
At 8pm, ABC's Last Man Standing won its half-hour in viewers and young adults over CBS' series debut of The Job and Fox's season premiere of Touch. Building week to week in Total Viewers (+6%) and Adults 18-49 (+14%), Last Man Standing earned its best numbers since November - since 11/9/12 and 11/30/12, respectively.
Like its lead-in, ABC's Malibu Country beat out premiere programming on CBS and Fox in the 8:30pm half hour with Total Viewers and Adults 18-49. Gaining over the prior week (+3%/+8%), Malibu Country drew its biggest audience since December 14, 2012 and its highest Adult 18-49 number since January 11, 2013. Through the most recent season-to-date Nielsen data (19 complete weeks), ABC's Malibu Country is now TV's most-watched new comedy, surpassing NBC's The Voice-boosted Go On.
Surging from its lead-in by 46% to stand as Friday's top-rated show, ABC's Shark Tank won the 9 o'clock hour in Adults 18-49, beating CBS' CSI: NY by 19%, the second hour of NBC's 2-hour Dateline by 27% and the second hour of Fox's 2-hour Touch premiere by 111%.
During the 10pm hour, ABC's 20/20 defeated NBC's time-period premiere of Rock Center with Brian Williams in the Adult 25-54 news demo (+6%).
