"TONIGHT" TOPS "KIMMEL" FOR THREE OF FOUR NIGHTS IN 18-49 VIEWERS AND FOUR OF FOUR NIGHTS IN TOTAL VIEWERS; BEATS "LATE SHOW" ON ALL NIGHTS IN BOTH MEASURES

FOR THEIR HEAD-TO-HEAD HALF-HOUR, JIMMY FALLON BEATS "NIGHTLINE" BY 12 PERCENT IN 18-49 VIEWERS AND FINISHES WITHIN 1 PERCENT IN TOTAL VIEWERS

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - January 17, 2013 - NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" has scored decisive wins over its ABC and CBS time-slot competition for the week of January 7-11 in total viewers and other key categories. In viewers 18-49, "Tonight" delivered bigger audiences Monday through Friday than the ABC and CBS time-period competition and finished in a near tie for first from Tuesday through Friday.

From Tuesday through Friday nights, "Tonight" out-delivered ABC's re-located "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on three of four nights in adults 18-49 (Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday) and on four of four nights in total viewers. "Tonight" delivered bigger audiences than CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" on five of the week's five nights in both measures.

At 12:35 a.m. ET last week, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" ranked #1 versus the ABC and CBS competition in 18-49 viewers. "Late Night" beat ABC's "Nightline" Tuesday through Friday in their head-to-head half-hour, 12:30 through 1 a.m. ET, by a 12 percent margin in 18-49 viewers and finished within 1 percent of "Nightline" in total viewers.

From Tuesday through Friday, "Tonight" averaged 3.526 million viewers overall, to top CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" (3.135 million) by a 12 percent margin and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" (3.017 million) by a 17 percent advantage. In viewers 18-49 Tuesday through Friday, "Tonight" (1.064 million) and "Kimmel" (1.074 million) finished within 1 percent of each other and "Tonight" defeated "Late Show" (846,000) by a 26 percent margin.

For their head-to-head 12:30-1 a.m. ET half-hour from Tuesday through Friday, Jimmy Fallon's 667,000 adults 18-49 convincingly topped the 597,000 of "Nightline" and the 543,000 of CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson." In total viewers, it was 1.746 million for "Late Night," 1.760 million for "Nightline" and 1.591 million for "Late Late Show."
