Wednesday Primetime Results:
* From 8-8:30 p.m. ET, "Whitney" (1.4/4 in 18-49, 3.8 million viewers overall) matched its season high in adult 18-49 rating (tying the 1.4 for the show's Nov. 14 season premiere). "Whitney" is up 8 percent versus its prior telecast (1.3 on December 5) and up 27 percent versus the episode before that (1.1 on November 21). In a highly competitive time period versus CBS's "Survivor," Fox's "X Factor," ABC's "The Middle" and CW's "Arrow," "Whitney" is up 17 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.4 from a 1.2) versus NBC's comedy average in the time period this season prior to "Whitney."
* "Whitney" equaled NBC's best in-season regular-program rating in the slot since May 23 in 18-49.
* From 8:30-9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Guys With Kids" (1.0/4 in 18-49, 2.7 million viewers overall) retained 71 percent of its 18-49 lead-in from an original "Whitney." In adults 18-34, the "Guys With Kids" retention was 78 percent (0.7 vs. 0.9).
* From 9:01-10:01 p.m. ET, "Take It All" averaged a 1.1/3 in in 18-49 and 3.4 million viewers overall. "Take It All" built on its lead-in by 10 percent in 18-49 rating and by 25 percent in total viewers. From its first half-hour to its second, "Take It All" grew by 10 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.1 from a 1.0) and 17 percent in total viewers (3.7 million vs. 3.1 million).
* At 10 p.m. ET, "Chicago Fire" (1.4/4 in adults 18-49, 4.8 million viewers overall) built on its lead-in by 27 percent in 18-49 rating and by 41 percent in total viewers. From its first half-hour to its second, "Chicago Fire" grew by 8 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.4 from a 1.3) and 12 percent in adults 25-54 (1.9 vs. 1.7), while the competition on ABC and CBS declined half-hour to half-hour in both categories
In Late-Night Metered Markets Wednesday night:
* In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 2.4/6; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.5/6; and ABC's combo of "Nightline," 3.3/8; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.7/5.
* In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.8/4; "Late Show," 0.6/3; "Nightline," 1.1/5; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3.
* At 12:35 a.m., "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.3/4 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.2/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).
* At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
