Wednesday Primetime Results:
* From 8-9 p.m. ET, "Christmas In Rockefeller Center" (2.1/6 in 18-49, 9.1 million viewers overall) scored a four-year high in adults 18-49, delivering the annual special's highest rating since 2008 (2.2). Versus the 2011 telecast, "Christmas In Rockefeller Center" is up 11 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.1 from a 1.9).
* "Christmas In Rockefeller Center" scored NBC's second-best 18-49 and total-viewer results in the time period this season, behind only a special November 7 episode of "The Voice" in the hour. In a highly competitive time period versus CBS's "Survivor," Fox's "X Factor," ABC's "Charlie Brown Christmas" and CW's "Arrow," "Christmas In Rockefeller Center" improved on NBC's averages in the slot last season by 40 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.1 from a 1.5, "live plus same day" non-sports) and 104 percent in total viewers (9.093 million vs. 4.451 million).
* From 9-11 p.m. ET, "SNL Christmas" (2.7/7 in adults 18-49, 7.4 million viewers overall) doubled NBC's average in the time period last season (2.7 from vs. 1.3, "live plus same day" non-sports) and was up 39 percent in total viewers (7.389 million vs. 5.297 million), in a highly competitive time period versus ABC's "Modern Family," "Suburgatory" and "Nashville," CBS's "Criminal Minds" and "CSI" and Fox's "X Factor."
* "SNL Christmas" unwrapped NBC's 2nd highest 18-49 and total-viewer results in the slot this season, behind the Nov. 7 "Voice" (excludes the October 3 Presidential Debate).
* NBC finished within 1 share of the nightlong lead in adults 18-49 (with a 2.5/7 vs. a 2.8/8 each for ABC and Fox).
In Late-Night Metered Markets Wednesday night:
* In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 3.0/8; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.4/6 with an encore; and ABC's combo of "Nightline," 3.3/8; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.7/5.
* In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 1.0/5; "Late Show," 0.7/3 with an encore; "Nightline," 1.0/4; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3.
* At 12:35 a.m., "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.5/5 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's first-run "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.4/5). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49 with an encore) tied "Late Late Show" (0.5/4).
* At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/4 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.4/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
