48 HOURS MYSTERY WAS UP +10% IN ADULTS 18-49, COMPARED TO THE SAME NIGHT LAST YEAR
CBS News' 48 HOURS MYSTERY (R) (10:00-11:00 PM) was first in households (3.7/07), viewers (5.41m), adults 25-54 (1.4/04) and tied for first in adults 18-49 (1.1/04, with NBC), according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Saturday, June 2. Compared to the same night last year, 48 HOURS MYSTERY was up +10% in adults 18-49.
Saturday's telecast featured a rebroadcast of Tracy Smith's December 2011 report on the murder of Jocelyn Earnest, a successful businesswoman who was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head, with a pistol nearby and a note on the floor. Her death first looked like a suicide until investigators turned to her estranged husband, Wesley Earnest, a high school administrator. The report included Wesley Earnest's first on-camera interview, as well as interviews with members of Jocelyn's family and the woman Wesley began dating while he was still married.
