ABC's "The Bachelor: The Women Tell All" Dominates Fox's 2-Hour "Alcatraz"

With The Bachelor: The Women Tell All and a repeat Castle, ABC ranked a solid #2 on Monday night in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49. ABC beat out Fox with its all-original programming (2-hour Alcatraz) by nearly 2.0 million viewers and by 17% in Adults 18-49.
Building in viewers (+8%) and young adults (+17%) from its first hour to its second hour against NBC's The Voice from 8-10pm, ABC's The Bachelor: The Women Tell All took second place in its slot, outperforming Fox's 2-hour Alcatraz in head-to-head competition by 42% in Total Viewers and by 39% in Adults 18-49.
During the 10 o'clock hour, ABC's repeat Castle beat out CBS' repeat Hawaii Five-0 in Total Viewers, Adults 18-34 and across all key Women (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54). The ABC drama matched its strongest repeat performance this season among young adults.
· ABC's Castle was up over its repeat airing on the same night last year by 1.1 million viewers.

With "The Bachelor: The Women Tell All" and a repeat "Castle," ABC ranked a solid No. 2 on Monday night in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49. ABC beat out Fox with its all-original programming (2-hour "Alcatraz") by nearly 2.0 million viewers (7.6 million vs. 5.7 million) and by 17% in Adults 18-49 (2.1/6 vs. 1.8/5).

Building in viewers (+8%) and young adults (+17%) from its first hour to its second hour against NBC's "The Voice" from 8:00-10:00 p.m., ABC's "The Bachelor: The Women Tell All" took second place in its slot, outperforming Fox's 2-hour "Alcatraz" in head-to-head competition by 42% in Total Viewers (8.1 million vs. 5.7 million) and by 39% in Adults 18-49 (2.5/6 vs. 1.8/5).
"Castle" (10:00-11:00 p.m.)
During the 10 o'clock hour, ABC's repeat "Castle" beat out CBS' repeat "Hawaii Five-0" in Total Viewers (6.7 million), Adults 18-34 (1.0/3) and across all key Women (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54). The ABC drama matched its strongest repeat performance this season among young adults (1.4/4).
· ABC's "Castle" was up over its repeat airing on the same night last year by 1.1 million viewers (5.6 million on 3/7/11).
A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 43% currently, from 40% at the same point in 2011. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
