NBC RATINGS RESULTS FOR THE LATE-NIGHT WEEK OF FEB. 20-24
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - March 1, 2012 - NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" has averaged a 0.9 rating, 3 share in adults 18-49 and 3.8 million viewers overall for the week of February 20-24, growing by 3 percent versus the year-ago week in total viewers (3.8 million vs. 3.7 million). In such key categories as total viewers and adults 25-54, "Tonight" delivered bigger audiences than CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," while also out-delivering the hour's combined ABC competition of "Nightline" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in every key ratings category. Note that Monday's ABC results are excluded from these averages due to the Presidents Day holiday.
At 12:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" delivered bigger audiences than CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" and ABC's "Kimmel" in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key categories. For the week, "Late Night" averaged a 0.5/3 in 18-49 and 1.7 million viewers overall.
Through the first 23 weeks of the season, "Tonight" has increased its total-viewer margin over "Late Show" to 14 percent (3.774 million vs. 3.320 million), up from the year-ago season-to-date advantage of 8 percent. Jimmy Fallon has established a total-viewer lead over "Late Late Show" this season of 17 percent (1.821 million vs. 1.557 million), up from last year's advantage of 0.4 percent. Jimmy has also increased his season-to-date lead over "Late Late Show" in adults 18-34, to 44 percent (291,000 vs. 202,000) up from last year's 30 percent, and in adults 25-54, up to 11 percent (892,000 vs. 801,000) up from 3 percent at this point last season.
