Monday
With increasing returns for "The Bachelor" and "Castle," ABC's registered as the No. 1 network on Monday night with Total Viewers (8.9 million-tied) and across all key Women demos (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54).
· Marking its 2nd straight week of gains, the Network scored its top-rated Monday in over 2 months in Adults 18-49 (2.5/6) and equaled its highest Adults 18-34 number (2.0/6) since season-premiere Monday in September - since 11/21/11 and 9/19/11, respectively.
"The Bachelor" (8:00-10:01 p.m.)
Growing from its first hour to its second hour, ABC's "The Bachelor" earned second place in its 2-hour time period with Adults 18-49, while ranking No. 1 among all key Women demos (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54). In fact, "The Bachelor" stood as Monday's No. 1 TV show across the Women demos.
· Up for the 2nd week running, "The Bachelor" achieved season-highs in both Total Viewers (8.3 million) and Adults 18-49 (2.7/7).
· In viewers and young adults, "The Bachelor" generated ABC's best numbers in the time period since November - since 11/21/11 and 11/14/11, respectively.
"Castle" (10:01-11:00 p.m.)
Monday's most-watched TV show overall, ABC's "Castle" ranked No. 1 during the 10 o'clock hour with Total Viewers (10.1 million) and Adults 25-54 (3.0/7).
· ABC's "Castle" surged over its year-ago broadcast by 1.0 million viewers (9.1 million on 1/24/11).
· The ABC drama produced its biggest audience in 9 weeks - since 11/21/11.
Tuesday
With repeats of back-to-back episodes of "Last Man Standing" from 8:00-9:00 p.m. and an encore telecast of "Modern Family" following the State of the Union address, ABC was up over the year-ago night with the State of the Union address (1/25/11) by 24% in Total Viewers (5.1 million vs. 4.1 million) and by 30% in Adults 18-49 (1.3/4 vs. 1.0/3).
Wednesday
ABC's all-repeat lineup beat out NBC's mix of original and repeat programming by double-digit percentages on Wednesday night in Total Viewers (+13% - 4.4 million vs. 3.9 million) and Adults 18-49 (+15% - 1.5/4 vs. 1.3/4).
"The Middle"/"Suburgatory" (8:00-9:00 p.m.)
From 8:00-9:00 p.m., ABC's repeat comedies ("The Middle"/"Suburgatory") outdelivered NBC's original comedies ("Whitney"/"Are You There, Chelsea?") by 15% in viewers (4.7 million vs. 4.1 million).
· "The Middle" was up over its last encore airing by 15% in Adults 18-49 (1.5/4 vs. 1.3/4 on 12/28/11).
"Modern Family"/"Happy Endings" (9:00-10:00 p.m.)
During the 9 o'clock hour, ABC's replays of "Modern Family" and "Happy Endings" dominated their replay competition on NBC, topping "Law & Order: SVU" by 1.7 million viewers (5.3 million vs. 3.6 million) and by 75% in Adults 18-49 (2.1/5 vs. 1.2/3).
· ABC's "Modern Family" rose sharply over its most recent replay with viewers (+17% - 6.5 million vs. 5.6 million) and young adults (+32% - 2.5/6 vs. 1.9/5).
· Marking its 3rd-strongest-ever repeat results, ABC's "Happy Endings" surged over its last encore by 15% in Total Viewers (3.9 million vs. 3.4 million) and by 42% in Adults 18-49 (1.7/4 vs. 1.2/3).
"Revenge" (10:00-11:00 p.m.)
During the 10 o'clock hour, ABC's "Revenge" shot up over its most recent repeat telecast by 19% in Total Viewers (3.1 million vs. 2.6 million) and by 50% in Adults 18-49 (0.9/2 vs. 0.6/2).
Thursday
"Winter Wipeout" (8:00-9:00 p.m.)
During the 8 o'clock hour against CBS' original comedies ("The Big Bang Theory"/"Rob") and Fox's "American Idol," ABC's repeat "Wipeout" (4.8 million) pulled in over 1.0 million more viewers than NBC's first-run comedies ("30 Rock"/"Parks and Recreation" = 3.7 million).
Friday
ABC ranked No. 1 on Friday versus its net rivals for the 3rd week in a row in Adults 18-49 (1.6/5), leading each hour and beating out Fox by 23% (1.3/4), NBC by 33% (1.2/4) and CBS by 45% (1.1/3). ABC won the night overall with Adults 25-54 (2.0/5), delivering the Top 3 TV shows of the evening, as "Shark Tank," "Primetime: What Would You Do?" and "20/20" each tied as the highest-rated show on Friday.
· Coming off a season high the prior week, the Net equaled its 2nd-highest rated Friday this season among Adults 18-49.
"Shark Tank" (8:00-9:00 p.m.)
Holding nearly all of its impressive week-earlier season premiere number (88%), ABC's "Shark Tank" beat out its network rivals in the 8:00 p.m. hour for the 2nd week running in Adults 18-49 (1.5/5), leading Fox's "Kitchen Nightmares" by 7% (1.4/4).
· In Total Viewers (5.4 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.5/5), ABC's "Shark Tank" equaled its 2nd-strongest ever results in the time period, behind only its week-ago season opener.
"Primetime: What Would You Do?" (9:00-10:00 p.m.)
Building on its season premiere (+6%) to stand as Friday's No. 1 TV program on the major nets in Adults 18-49 (1.7/5), ABC's "Primetime: What Would You Do?" topped its net rivals in the 9 o'clock hour, dominating the series finale of NBC's "Chuck" by 31% (1.3/4) and Fox's first-run "Fringe" by 42% (1.2/3).
· "Primetime: What Would You Do?" marked its best Adult 18-49 number in more than 1 year - since 1/21/11.
"20/20" (10:00-11:00 p.m.)
During the 10:00 p.m. hour, ABC's "20/20" finished No. 1 in Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54. In addition, ABC's "20/20" continued to qualify as the night's No. 1 newsmagazine, outdelivering NBC's "Dateline" by double-digit margins in head-to-head competition among Total Viewers (+27% - 5.7 million vs. 4.5 million), Adults 25-54 (+25% - 2.0/5 vs. 1.6/4) and Adults 18-49 (+25% - 1.5/4 vs. 1.2/3). "20/20" featured Robin Roberts' report on a harrowing story with chilling details about an epic divorce, kidnapping, miraculous escape and shocking testimony that left a courtroom speechless.
· "20/20" generated its 2nd-biggest audience on the night in almost 3 months - since 11/11/11.
Saturday
With encores of "Wipeout" and the "ABC Saturday Night Movie," ABC defeated NBC with its coverage of the "U.S. Figure Skating Championships" on Saturday night by 100% in Adults 18-49 (1.0/3 vs. 0.5/2).
"Wipeout" (8:00-9:00 p.m.)
At 8 o'clock, ABC's repeat "Wipeout" ranked second in the hour among Adults 18-49 (1.1/4), dominating its encore competition on CBS by 57% ("Rules of Engagement"/"Mike & Molly" = 0.7/2) and on NBC by 175% ("Harry's Law" = 0.4/1). In addition, "Wipeout" stood as the No. 1 broadcast program in its slot with Teens 12-17 and the top-rated broadcast program of the night in Kids 2-11.
· "Wipeout" grew over its most recent encore in the hour two weeks ago (on 1/14/12) by 34% in Total Viewers (3.9 million vs. 2.9 million) and by 38% in Adults 18-49 (1.1/4 vs. 0.8/2) to turn in its strongest repeat numbers on the night this season.
"ABC Saturday Night Movie: Blades of Glory" (9:00-11:00 p.m.)
From 9:00-11:00 p.m., ABC's rebroadcast theatrical "Blades of Glory" outdelivered NBC's "U.S. Figure Skating Championships" head to head in the 2-hour time period by 50% in Adults 18-49 (0.9/3 vs. 0.6/2). The repeat feature film was Saturday's No. 1 broadcast program in Teens 12-17.
Sunday
"America's Funniest Home Videos" (7:00-8:00 p.m.)
During the 7 o'clock hour, opposite the NFL's 2012 Pro Bowl, ABC's "America's Funniest Home Videos" ranked as the dominant No. 1 non-sports program in Adults 18-49, leading runner-up CBS' "60 Minutes" by 27% (1.9/5 vs. 1.5/4).
· ABC's "America's Funniest Home Videos" attracted its biggest audience (7.3 million) since November (3rd-largest of the season) and equaled its top Adult 18-49 number since early-May - since 11/27/11 and 5/1/11, respectively.
"Once Upon a Time" (8:00-9:01 p.m.)
Rising week to week and building sharply on its lead-in against the football game (+49% in viewers/+84% in young adults), ABC freshman drama "Once Upon a Time" emerged as Sunday's
No. 1 non-sports TV program among Adults 18-49 (3.5/8). During the 8 o'clock hour, ABC's "Once Upon a Time" outdelivered CBS' "Undercover Boss" by 17% (3.0/7) and Fox's animated comedies by 59% ("The Simpsons"/"Napoleon Dynamite" = 2.2/5).
· Growing week to week in Viewers (+17%) and Adults 18-49 (+9%), "Once Upon a Time" (10.9 million) produced its most-watched telecast overall in 11 weeks - since 11/13/11. In addition, the Disney-owned drama surged by 24% over the prior week in Teens 12-17 to match the series' 2nd-highest-ever number.
· Although facing the Pro Bowl this year, "Once Upon a Time" delivered big time-period increases for ABC in the hour, growing over the year-ago night with original programming by 2.4 million viewers and by 46% in Adults 18-49 ("Home Edition" = 8.5 million and 2.4/6 on 1/30/11).
"Hallmark Hall of Fame: A Smile as Big as the Moon" (9:01-11:00 p.m.)
From 9:00-11:00 p.m., ABC's "Hallmark Hall of Fame: A Smile as Big as the Moon" was up from the last "Hallmark Hall of Fame" movie (on 11/27/11), gaining 6% in Total Viewers (6.8 million vs. 6.4 million) and surging 36% in Adults 18-49 (1.5/4 vs. 1.1/2).
· With "A Smile as Big as the Moon," the Network pulled in its largest audience in the 2-hour time period since November - since 11/20/11.
