Los Angeles, CA - OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network scored its highest ratings ever with the second episode of Oprah Winfrey's new primetime series "Oprah's Next Chapter" on Sunday, January 8 (9-10 p.m. ET/PT).
The episode, which featured a revealing interview with "America's Pastor" Joel Osteen at his home in Houston, Texas, garnered 1.6 million total viewers and a 1.3 rating in the key women 25-54 demo, ranking #3 in its time period among ad-supported cable networks. The series saw double digit growth across all key demos versus premiere week (1.6 million total viewers, 1.3 W25-54, 1.5 HH; +45% total viewers, +18% W25-54, +36% HH). The episode also generated significant growth from its first half-hour to its second (1.5 million total viewers from 9-9:30 p.m. to 1.6 million total viewers 9:30-10 p.m.) and posted triple digit gains across all key demos versus year ago numbers (+220% total viewers, +225% W25-54, +150% HH).
The second season premiere of "Oprah's Master Class" featuring Jane Fonda (Sunday, January 8 from 10-11 p.m. ET/PT) scored a series high rating with 930,000 total viewers a .69 rating in the key women 25-54 demo, up triple digits across all key demos versus year ago numbers (930,000 total viewers, .69 W25-54, .94 HH; +194% total viewers, +188% W25-54, 169% HH). This was the network's second highest rating ever in the Sunday 10 p.m. time period only behind the second hour of last week's two-hour premiere of "Oprah's Next Chapter."
