"The Big Bang Theory" Took Every Spot on the ranker of Basic Cable's Top 10 Most-Watched Sitcom Telecasts for the Week

Adult Swim

A new episode of Adult Swim's Emmy-winning original series Robot Chicken (Sunday, 11:30 p.m.) posted solid delivery growth across all targeted young adult and male demos vs. the same time period last year. Adults 18-34 (787,000) grew by 27%, adults 18-24 (317,000) by 5%, adults 18-49 (984,000) by 12%, men 18-34 (523,000) by 49%, men 18-24 (217,000) by 10% and men 18-49 (625,000) by 22%. Immediately following, a new episode of the original series Squidbillies also charted strong growth among young adults: adults 18-34 (608,000) grew by 22%, adults 18-49 (743,000) by 6%, men 18-34 (375,000) by 20% and men 18-49 (447,000) by 6%.

Across the second week of November 2011, Adult Swim ranked #1 on basic cable for Total Day Delivery of adults 18-34 (520,000), adults 18-24 (287,000) and men 18-24 (183,000); and ranked #2 behind ESPN among adults 18-49, men 18-49 and men 18-34. Compared to the same time period last year, delivery among adults 18-34, 18-24 and men 18-24 grew by 4%.

Adult Swim programming - including Family Guy, Robot Chicken and American Dad - accounted for 18 of the top 50 telecasts for the week on basic cable among adults 18-34, and 16 of the top 50 among men 18-34, both more than any other network.

The Big Bang Theory scored big last week for TBS, which ranked as basic cable's top entertainment network in primetime delivery of adults 18-34.

The Big Bang Theory took every spot on the ranker of basic cable's Top 10 most-watched sitcom telecasts for the week, led by the Saturday 9:30 p.m. airing, which delivered a whopping 2.9 million viewers. That episode ranked as basic cable's #1 comedy program for the week, beating out new episodes of South Park and Tosh.0. Last week, The Big Bang Theory also accounted for eight of basic cable's Top 10 sitcom telecasts with adults 18-34 and nine of the Top 10 with adults 18-49.

TBS's late-night series CONAN grew its delivery of adults 18-34 (345,000) by a remarkable 11% compared to the previous week. Overall, the show averaged 774,000 viewers and 527,000 adults 18-49 for the week. Through the first two weeks of November, CONAN is up 4% in total viewers, 10% with adults 18-34 and 5% with adults 18-49.

In time-shifted viewing for the week of Oct. 24, CONAN scored a final Live + 7 delivery of 832,000 viewers, with 371,000 adults 18-34 and 576,000 adults 18-49.

Cartoon Network

Cartoon Network's Monday night line-up of comedy animation (7-9 p.m.) continued to perform well across the second week of November 2011. Monday night ranked once again as the #1 destination on all television for boys 9-14. Adventure Time (8 p.m.) was the #1 telecast of the day among boys 9-14 (up 19% vs. the 2010 time period), and also ranked #1 in its time period among boys 6-11/9-14. Regular Show (8:15 p.m.) and MAD (8:30 p.m.) both ranked #1 in their time periods among boys 6-11/9-14. And Johnny Test (7 p.m.), The Amazing World of Gumball (7:30 p.m.) and MAD (8:45 p.m.) all ranked #1 in their respective time periods among boys 9-14.

The Tuesday Night line-up (7-9 p.m.) also attracted strong delivery among boys, with Johnny Test (7 p.m.), and The Looney Tunes Show (7:30 p.m. & 8 p.m.) ranking #1 in their respective time periods among boys 9-14. The 8 p.m. telecast of The Looney Tunes Show also ranked as the #1 telecast of the day on all television among boys 9-14.

Friday night boasted a one-hour special serving as a "sneak peek" to the all-new animated action-adventure series Green Lantern (7-8 p.m.), which scored as the most-watched program of the night (6-9 p.m.) for Cartoon Network, ranked #1 in its time period among boys 9-14, and attracted more than 1.9 million viewers ages 2+. The presentation also grew by double-digits across all targeted demos vs. its Young Justice lead-in, and continued to grow its kids 2-11 and boys 2-11 audience across the second half-hour. Green Lantern will premiere as a series in First Quarter 2012.

Cartoon Network's Saturday morning CRUSHZONE (6:30 - 11 a.m.) earned double-digit increases across all kids and boys demos, ranging between 11% and 44%.

truTV

truTV continues to score outstanding growth over last year. Last week, the network was up 7% in primetime in the key men 18-34 demographic, compared to the same week last year, while the network's primetime median age (42) was down three years.

Driving truTV's success last week were hit shows like Hardcore Pawn (Tuesday at 9 p.m.), Operation Repo (Wednesday at 9:30 p.m.), Wipeout (Friday at 8 p.m.) and Top 20 Most Shocking (Saturday at 8 p.m.), all of which delivered double- and triple-digit timeslot growth among key demos.
