FOX (12.91 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.7, #1) was still the network to beat on Thursday with its coverage of the "World Series, Game 2" (12.91 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.7, #T2).
CBS (12.62 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.2, #2) then snagged the silver with a new "The Big Bang Theory" (14.69 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 4.9, #1), the return of "Rules of Engagement" (11.47 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 3.7, #T2) and new episodes of "Person of Interest" (12.27 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.7, #5) and "The Mentalist" (12.50 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.5, #6).
Next up was ABC (7.18 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.4, #3) with fresh installments of "Charlie's Angels" (5.63 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.2, #10), "Grey's Anatomy" (9.36 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 3.5, #4) and "Private Practice" (6.56 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 2.4, #7).
Meanwhile, The CW (2.48 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.1, #4) moved up to fourth place with new episodes of "The Vampire Diaries" (2.85 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.3, #9) and "The Secret Circle" (2.11 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T13). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Diaries" posted a 1.9 rating while "Circle" delivered a 1.2 rating.
And finally, repeats of "Community" (2.47 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T13), "Parks & Recreation" (2.50 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T11), "The Office" (3.24 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.5, #8), "Whitney" (2.60 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T11) and "Prime Suspect" (2.79 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.8, #15) on NBC (2.73 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #4) rounded out the evening.

In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.8/4 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.6/3 with an encore; "Nightline," 1.1/5; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3 with an encore.
At 12:35 a.m., "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.2/4 in metered-market households with an encore) trailed CBS's first-run "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.3/5). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).
At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
