SYFY SATURDAY ORIGINAL MOVIE "BATTLE OF LOS ANGELES" SHOOTS DOWN NEARLY 2.2 MILLION TOTAL VIEWERS DURING MARCH 12 PREMIERE

THIRD SYFY SATURDAY ORIGINAL MOVIE TO BREAK TWO MILLION VIEWER MARK IN 2011

NEW YORK - March 15, 2011 - While the theatrical film Battle: Los Angeles ruled the weekend box office, the Syfy Saturday Original Movie Battle of Los Angeles mastered television Saturday night, blasting 2.18 million total viewers and averaging a 1.6 household rating during its premiere on March 12 from 9-11PM (ET/PT).

The movie also delivered 931,000 Adults 25-54, the highest in that demo for a Saturday Original Movie since the October presentation of Red: Werewolf Hunter.

This marks the third Syfy Saturday Original Movie to shatter the two million viewers mark so far in 2011, joining Mega Python Vs Gatoroid (2.35 million) and Behemoth (2.16 million).

In Battle of Los Angeles, hundreds of extra-terrestrial ships swarm Los Angeles, causing death and chaos ahead of an impending alien invasion. A small group of United States military personnel are able to get underground, where they learn the only way to stop the invasion is by destroying the mother ship from within. It falls to two determined soldiers to finish the job before the human race is demolished. The movie starred Nia Peeples (Pretty Little Liars) and Kel Mitchell (Kenan & Kel), and was a production of The Asylum.
