UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - December 7, 2010 - Paced by "Sunday Night Football," augmented by solid ratings throughout the week from its primetime lineup, NBC ranked #2 in the key demographic of adults 18-49 for the week of November 29-December 5, averaging a 2.5 rating, 7 share in adults 18-49 and 8.0 million viewers overall, according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

For the week, NBC also ranked #2 in adults 18-34 and total viewers and tied for #1 in adults 25-54.

NBC Sports' "Sunday Night Football" telecast of the Pittsburgh Steelers 13-10 win over the Baltimore Ravens was the #1 primetime program this week in adults 18-49, marking the 13th straight week in which "NBC Sunday Night Football" has topped the weekly rankings in primetime's key demographic. "Sunday Night Football" also ranked #1 among all primetime programs for the week in adults 25-54, adults 18-34 and all key adult-male demographics - men 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 - as well as total viewers

Also ranking among the top programs this week in adults 18-49 were "The Office," which ranked #6, "The Biggest Loser" (#14) and "Law & Order: SVU" and "Outsourced" (#20, tied; rankings exclude all football pre-game and post-game telecasts).

Primetime averages for the week of November 29-December 5 in adults 18-49 were Fox (2.6/7), NBC (2.5/7), CBS (2.2/6), ABC (2.0/6) and CW (1.0/3). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (9.2 million), NBC (8.0 million), ABC (7.2 million), Fox (7.1 million) and CW (2.3 million).

Season-to-date through 11 weeks, NBC is tied for #3 in adults 18-49, up 4 percent in 18-49 rating versus the first 11 weeks of last season (2.8 vs. 2.7). NBC is the only network among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW to be showing a year-to-year gain in 18-49 rating. NBC is also tied for #3 season-to-date in adults 25-54, up 3 percent in 25-54 rating versus the first 11 weeks last year (3.2 vs. 3.1). NBC is up 3 percent year-to-year in total viewers through the first 11 weeks of the season (8.040 million vs. 7.830 million).

NBC highlights for the week of November 29-December 5

* NBC Sports' "Sunday Night Football" telecast of the Pittsburgh Steelers at the Baltimore Ravens propelled NBC to a commanding Sunday primetime victory in all key measures - adults, men and women 18-34; adults, men and women 18-49; and adults, men and women 25-54, as well as total viewers.

* NBC's margin of victory over the #2 network in primetime Sunday night was 35 percent in adults 18-49 and 49 percent in total viewers.

* On Friday, the NBC Movie of the Week telecast of "A Walk in My Shoes" earned NBC's top 18-49 result in the time period since October 15 and biggest overall audience in the slot since October 8.

* On Thursday, "The Office" ranked #2 in its tough time period in adults 18-49 and was #1 in adults 18-34 and all key adult-male demos - men 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54.

* So far this season, "The Office" has added an average 31 percent to its 18-49 rating in going from "live plus same day" to "live plus seven day" results, making it the biggest percentage gainer among all half-hour comedies

* "The Office" was the #2 broadcast of the night Thursday in adults 18-49, behind only "Grey's Anatomy," and was the #1 broadcast of the night in adults 18-34.

* Season-to-date, "The Office" is tied as the #7-ranked primetime program in adults 18-49, with a 4.8 average rating. In adults 18-34, "The Office," with a 5.6 average rating, is the #3 program, behind only "Sunday Night Football" and "Glee" ("most current" averages; rankings exclude football pre-game and post game telecasts).

* Also on Thursday, "30 Rock" built on its lead-in from "Community" by 21 percent in 18-49 rating and also generated a 21 percent increase in adults 18-49 versus NBC's average in its slot last season. "30 Rock" finished within one share of the time-period lead in adults 18-49 and was the #1 program among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-34, men 18-34 and men 18-49.

* Through the first nine weeks of the season, "30 Rock" has added an average 27 percent to its 18-49 rating and "Community" an average 25 percent in going from "live plus same day" to "live plus seven day" results, making them the #3 and #4 biggest gainers respectively on a percentage basis among half-hour comedies, behind only "The Office" and "Modern Family."

* NBC's freshman Thursday comedy "Outsourced ranked #2 in its slot among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-49 and #1 in all key adult-male demographics - men 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54.

* "Outsourced" is the #1 new show of the season in adults 18-34, tied for #13 among all primetime programs in that demographic, with a 3.5 rating (excludes all football pre-game and post-game telecasts).

* So far this season, "Outsourced" is the #1 biggest gainer on a percentage basis going from "live plus same day" to "live plus seven day" in 18-49 among all first-year half-hour comedies on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW.

* Additionally on Thursday, "The Apprentice" delivered its biggest overall audience since September 16 and matched its highest 18-49 rating since that same date. "The Apprentice" was up 56 percent in 18-49 rating and 23 percent in total viewers versus the prior week's holiday-impacted telecast.

* On Wednesday, "Law & Order: Los Angeles" won its time period in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, total viewers and other key measures. "Law & Order: LA" topped the ABC-CBS competition combined in total viewers.

* Law & Order: LA" was up 16 percent in 18-49 rating and 17 percent or more than 1.3 million persons in total viewers versus its most recent telecast on November 17, locking up its highest 18-49 rating since October 20 and its biggest overall audience since its series premiere on September 29.

* Also on Wednesday, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" captured its highest 18-49 rating since October 20 and its biggest overall audience in more than two months. Versus its most recent telecast on November 17, "SVU" was up 19 percent in 18-49 rating and 21 percent or more than 1.5 million persons in total viewers.

* On Tuesday, the special "Christmas in Rockefeller Center" averaged 11.3 million total viewers, up 30 percent versus last year's special. This marks the biggest overall viewership for the annual holiday special in seven years. "Christmas in Rockefeller Center" was the #10-ranked program of the week in total viewers (excluding football pre-game and post-game telecasts).

* Also on Tuesday, "The Biggest Loser" weighed in with its top 18-49 rating since the show's season premiere on September 21 and hit a new season high in total viewers. Week to week, "Biggest Loser" gained 26 percent in adults 18-49 and 23 percent in total viewers.

* On Monday, "Chuck" matched its season-high in 18-49 rating and set a new season high in total viewers. Week to week, "Chuck" was up 18 percent in adults 18-49 and 28 percent or nearly 1.4 million persons in total viewers. "Chuck" ranked #2 among the broadcast networks in its time period in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and other key demos and #1 in men 18-49 and men 18-34.

* Also on Monday, "The Event" was up week-to-week by 12 percent in both adults 18-49 and total viewers to score its top results in both measures since October 25.

* So far this season, "The Event" has added an average 37 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure, making "The Event" the #1 percentage gainer among all new shows and the #3 series overall by this measure. In total viewers, "The Event" has added an average 29 percent or more than 2.1 million persons in going from "live plus same day" to "live plus seven day."

* Additionally on Monday, "Chase" tracked down week-to-week gains of 14 percent in adults 18-49 and 13 percent in total viewers to capture its highest 18-49 rating since October 18 and biggest overall viewership since September 27.

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

Additional NBC highlights for the week of November 29-December 5:

On Monday, Nov. 29 at 8 p.m. ET, "Chuck" (2.0 rating, 6 share in adults 18-49, 6.2 million viewers overall) matched its season-high in 18-49 rating and set a new season high in total viewers. Week to week, "Chuck" was up 18 percent in 18-49 rating (2.0 vs. 1.7) and up 28 percent or nearly 1.4 million persons in total viewers (6.2 million vs. 4.8 million). In the time period "Chuck" ranked #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and adults 25-54 and was #1 in men 18-49 and men 18-34.

It's worth noting that through the season's first nine weeks, "Chuck" has added an average 26 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure

Monday from 9-10 p.m. ET, "The Event"(1.9/5 in adults 18-49, 5.8 million viewers overall) scored its top 18-49 and total-viewer results since October 25. Week to week, "The Event" was up 12 percent in both 18-49 rating (1.9 vs. 1.7) and total viewers (5.825 million vs. 5.192 million).

Through the season's first nine weeks, "The Event" has added an average 37 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure. This is the #1 percentage increase among all new shows and "The Event" is the #3 series overall by this measure. In total viewers, "The Event" has added an average 29 percent or more than 2.1 million persons in going from "live plus same day" to "live plus seven day."

Monday at 10 p.m. ET, "Chase" (1.6/4 in adults 18-49, 6.0 million viewers overall) captured its highest 18-49 rating since October 18 and its biggest overall viewership since September 27. In adults 18-49, "Chase" was up 14 percent versus the prior week (1.6 vs. 1.4) and up 33 percent versus two weeks ago (1.6 vs. 1.2). In total viewers, "Chase" tracked down an increase of 13 percent versus the prior week (6.027 million vs. 5.343 million) and a gain of 32 percent versus two weeks ago (6.027 million vs. 4.565 million). In the time period, "Chase" ranked #2 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and other key demos.

Through the season's first eight weeks, "Chase" has added an average 29 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure.

On Tuesday, Nov. 30 from 8-9 p.m. ET, the holiday special "Christmas in Rockefeller Center" (1.9/5 in adults 18-49, 11.3 million viewers overall) grew versus last year's telecast by 6 percent in 18-49 rating (1.9 vs. 1.8) and by 30 percent in total viewers (11.260 million vs. 8.686 million). This marks the biggest overall audience for the "Christmas in Rockefeller Center" special in seven years (since the 2003 telecast averaged a slightly higher 11.261 million viewers). It also marks NBC's biggest overall audience in this time period since June 1, when the season premiere of "America's Got Talent" delivered 11.302 million viewers in the hour.

Tuesday from 9-11 p.m. ET, "The Biggest Loser 10" (2.9/8 in adults 18-49, 8.3 million viewers overall) scored its highest 18-49 rating since the show's season premiere on September 21 (also a 2.9) and hit a new season high in total viewers. Airing in a special 9-11 p.m. time period, "Biggest Loser" grew week-to-week by 26 percent in 18-49 rating (2.9 vs. 2.3) and 23 percent or more than 1.5 million persons in total viewers (8.309 million vs. 6.769 million).

In its second hour from 10-11 p.m. ET, "Biggest Loser" ranked #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 25-54 and #2 in adults 18-49.

On Wednesday, Dec. 1 from 8-9 p.m. ET, "Undercovers" averaged a 1.3/4 in 18-49 and 4.8 million viewers overall. "Undercovers" was up 8 percent in 18-49 rating (1.3 vs. 1.2) versus its last original telecast on November 10.

Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (2.5/7 in 18-49, 9.2 million viewers overall) captured its highest 18-49 rating since October 20 and its biggest overall audience in more than two months (since September 29). Versus its most recent telecast on November 17, "SVU" was up 19 percent in 18-49 rating (2.5 vs. 2.1) and 21 percent or more than 1.5 million persons in total viewers (9.221 million vs. 7.648 million).

Versus NBC's time-period averages in this slot last season, "Law & Order; SVU" was up 39 percent in 18-49 rating (2.5 vs. 1.8) and 47 percent in total viewers (9.221 million vs. 6.278 million).

"Law & Order: SVU" finished within a tenth of a rating point of the time-period lead in adults 18-49 and ranked #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in women 18-49 and women 18-34. From its first half-hour to its second, "Law & Order: SVU" increased in every key ratings category, including gains of 13 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 2.6 rating from a 2.3) and 14 percent in adults 25-54 (to a 3.2 from a 2.8).

So far this season, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" added an average 29 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure. In total viewers, "SVU Event" has added an average 19 percent or more than 1.6 million persons in going from "live plus same day" to "live plus seven day."

Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET, "Law & Order: Los Angeles" (2.2/6 in 18-49, 9.2 million viewers overall) won its time period in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, total viewers and other key measures. "Law & Order: LA" topped the ABC-CBS competition combined in total viewers (9.2 million vs. 8.7 million for ABC-CBS combined).

Versus its most recent original telecast on November 17, "Law & Order: LA" was up 16 percent in 18-49 rating (2.2 vs. 1.9) and 17 percent or more than 1.3 million persons in total viewers (9.2 million vs. 7.8 million). "Law & Order: LA" locked up its highest 18-49 rating since October 20 and its biggest overall audience since its series premiere on September 29.

So far this season, "Law & Order: Los Angeles" added an average 22 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure

On Thursday, Dec. 2 from 8-8:30 p.m. ET, "Community" averaged a 1.9/6 in 18-49 and 4.5 million viewers overall. "Community" matched NBC's 18-49 average in the slot during the traditional 2009-10 season (1.9, non-sports, "live plus same day"). "Community" finished within one share of the time-period lead in adults 18-49 and ranked #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-34 (tie) and men 18-34.

So far this season, "Community" has added an average 25 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure, making it the #4 biggest gainer on a percentage basis among half-hour comedies, behind only "The Office," "Modern Family" and "30 Rock."

Thursday from 8:30-9 p.m. ET, "30 Rock" (2.3/6 in 18-49, 5.0 million viewers overall) finished within one share of the time-period lead in adults 18-49 and was the #1 program among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-34, men 18-34 and men 18-49. "30 Rock" built by 21 percent in 18-49 rating on its lead-in and also generated a 21 percent increase versus NBC's slot average during the traditional 2009-10 season (1.9, non-sports, "live plus same day").

So far this season, "30 Rock" has added an average 27 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure, making it the #3 biggest gainer on a percentage basis among half-hour comedies, behind only "The Office" and "Modern Family."

Thursday from 9-9:31 p.m. ET, "The Office" (3.7/10 in adults 18-49, 7.3 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in its time period in adults 18-49 and was #1, ahead of ABC's "Grey's Anatomy," Fox's "Fringe" and CBS's "CSI" encore in adults 18-34 and all key adult-male demographics - men 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54. Versus its average for the May sweep, "The Office" was up 6 percent in 18-49 rating (3.7 vs. 3.5) and 8 percent in total viewers (7.311 million vs. 6.771 million).

"The Office" was the #2 broadcast of the night in adults 18-49, behind only "Grey's Anatomy," and the #1 program of the night in adults 18-34, with a 4.3 rating in that demo.

These results for "The Office" are likely to increase substantially when Nielsen issues "live plus seven day" results for the week of November 29-December 5. So far this season, "The Office" has added an average 31 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure. On a percentage basis, "The Office" is the #1 biggest gainer from "live plus same day" to "live plus seven" among all half-hour comedies on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CW.

Thursday from 9:31-10 p.m. ET, "Outsourced" (2.5/7 in 18-49, 5.3 million viewers overall) ranked #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-49 and #1 in all key adult-male demographics - men 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54.

So far this season, "Outsourced" has added an average 22 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure. On a percentage basis, "Outsourced" is the #1 biggest gainer going from "live plus same day" to "live plus seven" among all first-year half-hour comedies on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CW.

Thursday at 10 p.m. ET, "The Apprentice" (1.4/4 in 18-49, 4.1 million viewers overall) delivered its biggest overall audience since September 16 and matched its highest 18-49 rating since that same date. "The Apprentice" was up 56 percent in 18-49 rating (1.4 vs. 0.9) and 23 percent in total viewers (4.119 million vs. 3.349 million) versus the prior week's holiday-impacted telecast.

So far this season, "The Apprentice" has added an average 27 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure. In total viewers, "The Apprentice" is adding 23 percent when going from "live plus same day" to "live plus seven day" Nielsen ratings, the biggest percentage increase for an unscripted show on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CW

On Friday, Dec. 3 from 8-10 p.m. ET, the NBC Movie of the Week telecast of "A Walk in My Shoes" (1.0/3 in 18-49, 4.4 million viewers overall) earned NBC's top 18-49 result in the time period since October 15 and biggest overall audience in the slot since October 8.

Friday from 10-11 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" averaged a 0.7/2 in 18-49 and 3.1 million viewers overall.

On Saturday, Dec. 4 from 8-9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Chase" (0.5/2 in 18-49, 3.2 million viewers overall) increased from its first half-hour to its second by 20 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 0.6 from a 0.5).

Saturday at 9 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast "Law & Order: Los Angeles" (0.6/2 in 18-49, 3.6 million viewers overall) grew from half-hour to half-hour by 17 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 0.7 from a 0.6) and by 29 percent in women 18-49 (0.9 vs. 0.7).

Saturday at 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (1.1/3 in 18-49, 5.2 million viewers overall) built on its lead-in by 83 percent in 18-49 rating and 43 percent or 1.6 million persons in total viewers. "SVU" grew from its first half-hour to its second by 20 percent in adult 18-49 rating (to a 1.2 from a 1.0), 25 percent in women 18-49 (1.5 vs. 1.2) and 17 percent in total viewers (5.6 million vs. 4.8 million).

On Sunday Dec. 5, the "NBC Sunday Night Football" telecast of the Pittsburgh Steelers at the Baltimore Ravens fueled a commanding primetime victory in all key measures - adults, men and women 18-34; adults, men and women 18-49; and adults, men and women 25-54, as well as total viewers. For its full duration, the Steelers-Ravens NFL game averaged an 8.3/21 in adults 18-49, 22.5 million viewers overall and a 13.4/21 household rating/share from 8:31-11:37 p.m. ET.

Sunday's Steelers-Ravens game was up 6 percent in 18-49 rating and 8 percent or more than 1.6 million persons in total viewers versus the "Sunday Night Football" game that aired during the same week last year (a 7.8/19 in 18-49 and 20.888 million viewers overall for the Vikings-Cardinals match-up on December 6, 2009).

NBC's margin of victory over the #2 network in primetime Sunday night was 35 percent in 18-49 rating (a 6.6 vs. a 4.9 for Fox, which was boosted by an NFL overrun) and 49 percent in total viewers (18.5 million vs. 12.4 million for Fox).

Also on Sunday, "Football Night in America 2" from 7:30-7:57 p.m. ET averaged a 1.5/4 in 18-49, 4.7 million viewers overall and a 2.9/5 household rating/share. "Football Night in America 3" from 7:57-8:22 p.m. delivered a 3.7/10 in 18-49, 11.4 million viewers overall and a 6.9/11 in households. From 8:22-8:31 p.m., "NBC Sunday Night Football Pre Kickoff" averaged a 5.3/14 in 18-49, 15.8 million viewers overall and a 9.4/15 in households.
