UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - November 16, 2010 - Paced by "NBC Sunday Night Football" and with another strong showing from its Thursday comedy line-up, NBC averaged a 2.4 rating, 7 share in adults 18-49 and 7.4 million viewers overall for the week of November 8-14, according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research. For the week, NBC ranked #2 in adults 18-34 and all key adult-male demographics - men 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54

NBC Sports' "Sunday Night Football" telecast of the New England Patriots' 39-26 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers ranked #1 among all primetime programs this week in adults 18-49, marking the 10th straight week in which "NBC Sunday Night Football" has topped the weekly rankings in primetime's key demographic. "Sunday Night Football" also ranked #1 among all primetime programs for the week adults 25-54, adults 18-34 and all key adult-male demographics - men 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54. With an average 21.2 million viewers overall, "Sunday Night Football" also ranked #1 among all primetime programs in total viewers.

Season to date, "Sunday Night Football" is the #1 program in adults 18-49 and other key demographic measures, including adults 18-34 and adults 25-54. Also ranking among the top 10 programs season-to-date in adults 18-49 is NBC's Thursday comedy "The Office," which is tied for #8 among all programs ("most current" averages; rankings exclude all football pre-game and post-game telecasts). In adults 18-34, "The Office" ranks #4 among all programs season-to-date, behind only "Sunday Night Football," "Glee" and "Modern Family."

Primetime averages for the week of November 8-14 in adults 18-49 were Fox (2.8/8), ABC (2.6/8), CBS (2.5/7), NBC (2.4/7) and CW (1.0/3). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (10.7 million), ABC (10.1 million), NBC (7.4 million), Fox (7.3 million) and CW (2.2 million).

Season-to-date through eight weeks, NBC is tied for #3 in adults 18-49, up 4 percent in 18-49 rating versus the first eight weeks of last season (2.8 vs. 2.7). NBC is also tied for #3 season-to-date in adults 25-54, up 6 percent in 25-54 rating versus the first eight weeks last year (3.3 vs. 3.1). NBC is up 3 percent year-to-year in total viewers through the first eight weeks of the season (8.060 million vs. 7.820 million).

NBC highlights for the week of November 8-14

· NBC Sports' "Sunday Night Football" telecast of the New England Patriots at the Pittsburgh Steelers fueled a Sunday primetime win in virtually all key measures - adults 18-49, adults 18-34, adult 25-54, all key adult-male demos - men 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 - as well as women 18-49, women 25-54 and total viewers.

· The Friday edition of "Dateline NBC" reported its highest 18-49 rating in five weeks. From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Dateline" grew by 55 percent in 18-49 rating and by 40 percent or 1.9 million persons in total viewers

· On Thursday, "The Office" ranked #2 in its time period in adults 18-49 and #1, ahead of ABC's "Grey's Anatomy," CBS's "CSI" and Fox's "Fringe," in adults 18-34 and all key adult-male demos - men 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54.

· So far this season, "The Office" has added an average 31 percent to its 18-49 rating in going from "live plus same day" to "live plus seven day" results, making it the biggest percentage gainer among all half-hour comedies

· Season-to-date, "The Office" is tied as the #8-ranked primetime program in adults 18-49, with a 4.6 average rating. In adults 18-34, "The Office," with a 5.4 average rating, ranks #4, behind only "Sunday Night Football," "Glee" and "Modern Family" ("most current" averages; rankings exclude football pre-game and post game telecasts).

· Also on Thursday, despite time-period competition that included CBS's "Big Bang Theory," "Community" was up 5 percent in adults 18-49 versus NBC's average in the slot last season. In the time period, "Community" ranked #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in men 18-34 and men 18-49.

· Additionally on Thursday, "30 Rock" built on its lead-in from "Community" by 20 percent in 18-49 rating and 12 percent in total viewers. "30 Rock" was also up 26 percent in adults 18-49 versus NBC's average in its slot last season. "30 Rock" ranked #1 in its time period among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults and men 18-34 and #2 in men 18-49 and men 25-54.

· So far this season, "30 Rock" has added an average 27 percent to its 18-49 rating and "Community" an average 26 percent in going from "live plus same day" to "live plus seven day" results, making them the #3 and #4 biggest gainers respectively on a percentage basis among half-hour comedies, behind only "The Office" and "Modern Family."

· Thursday's telecast of "Outsourced" ranked #1 in its time period among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in men 18-34 and men 18-49 and was #2 in adults 18-34 and men 25-54 and exhibited its best retention of its 18-49 lead-in from "The Office" since September 30.

· "Outsourced" is the #1 new show of the season in adults 18-34, tied for #13 among all primetime programs in that demographic, with a 3.4 rating (excludes all football pre-game and post-game telecasts).

· So far this season, "Outsourced" is the #1 biggest gainer on a percentage basis going from "live plus same day" to "live plus seven day" among all first-year half-hour comedies on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW.

· On Wednesday, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" was up 11 percent in 18-49 rating and 14 percent in total viewers versus NBC's average in its time period last season

· "Law & Order: SVU" grew from its first half-hour to its second in all key ratings categories, including a gain of 17 percent in adults 18-49.

· On Tuesday, "Biggest Loser" grew by 23 percent in 18-49 rating from its first half-hour to its fourth in a tough time period versus Fox's "Glee," CBS's "NCIS" and "NCIS: Los Angeles" and ABC's "No Ordinary Family" and the "Dancing With the Stars" Results Show. In total viewers, "Biggest Loser' hit a three-week high.

· Also on Tuesday, "Parenthood" delivered its most competitive performance so far this season, finishing within a tenth of a ratings point of the time-period lead in adults 18-49 and ranking #1 in adults 18-34 and other key demos.

· "Parenthood" delivered its highest 18-49 rating since October 5, and in total viewers has now gained in audience for three consecutive telecasts.

· These "Parenthood" results are likely to increase substantially when Nielsen issues "live plus seven day" results for the week. So far this season, "Parenthood" has added an average 42 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from "live plus same day" ratings to "live plus seven day" results, making "Parenthood" the #1 biggest gainer on a percentage basis in going from "live plus same day" to "live plus seven" among all primetime series on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and the CW.

· On Monday so far this season, "The Event" has added an average 35 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure. This is the #1 percentage increase among all new shows and "The Event" is the #4 series overall by this measure. In total viewers, "The Event" has added an average 28 percent or more than 2.1 million persons in going from "live plus same day" to "live plus seven day."

· On Monday, the NBC News special "Decision Points," featuring Matt Lauer's interview with former President George W. Bush delivered NBC's biggest overall viewership in the time period so far this season.

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

Additional NBC highlights for the week of November 8-14:

On Monday, Nov. 8 from 8-9 p.m. ET, the NBC News special "Decision Points," featuring Matt Lauer's interview with former President George W. Bush, averaged a 1.8 rating, 5 share in adults 18-49 and 7.0 million viewers overall, delivering NBC's biggest overall viewership in this time period so far this season.

Monday from 9-10 p.m. ET, "The Event" averaged a 1.7/4 in adults 18-49 and 5.5 million viewers overall. So far this season, "The Event" has added an average 35 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure. This is the #1 percentage increase among all new shows and "The Event" is the #4 new series overall by this measure. In total viewers, "The Event" has added an average 28 percent or more than 2.1 million persons in going from "live plus same day" to "live plus seven day."

Monday at 10 p.m. ET, "Chase" averaged a 1.2/3 in adults 18-49 and 4.6 million viewers overall.

On Tuesday, Nov. 9 from 8-10 p.m. ET, "The Biggest Loser 10" averaged a 2.4/7 in adults 18-49 and 6.8 million viewers overall in a highly competitive time period that included Fox's "Glee," CBS's "NCIS" and "NCIS: Los Angeles" and ABC's "No Ordinary Family" and the "Dancing With the Stars" Results Show.

"Biggest Loser" gained 23 percent in 18-49 rating from its first half-hour to its fourth (to a 2.7 from a 2.2) and attracted its biggest overall viewership in three weeks.

Tuesday from 10-11 p.m. ET, "Parenthood" (2.1/6 in adults 18-49, 5.0 million viewers overall.) finished within a tenth of a rating point of the time-period lead in adults 18-49 (2.1 vs. a 2.2 for CBS's "The Good Wife"), its most competitive finish so far this season. "Parenthood" ranked #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults and women 18-34 and tied for #1 in men 18-34.

With its second consecutive telecast-to-telecast gain, "Parenthood" delivered its highest 18-49 rating since October 5. In total viewers, "Parenthood" has now gained viewership for three consecutive telecasts.

These "Parenthood" results are likely to increase substantially when Nielsen issues "live plus seven day" results for the week of November 8-14. So far this season, "Parenthood" is the #1 primetime series on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or the CW on a percentage basis in going from previously reported "live plus same day" 18-49 ratings to "live plus seven day" results, gaining an average 42 percent in 18-49 rating.

On Wednesday, Nov. 10 from 8-9 p.m. ET, "Undercovers" averaged a 1.2/4 in 18-49 and 5.1 million viewers overall.

Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" averaged a 2.0/5 in 18-49 and 7.2 million viewers overall in a highly competitive time period that included CBS's "Criminal Minds," Fox's "Hell's Kitchen" and ABC's coverage of the "CMA Awards."

From its first half-hour to its second, "Law & Order: SVU" increased in every key ratings category, including gains of 17 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 2.1 rating from a 1.8) and 14 percent in adults 25-54 (to a 2.5 from a 2.2).

Versus NBC's time-period averages in this slot last season, "Law & Order; SVU" was up 11 percent in 18-49 rating (2.0 vs. 1.8) and 14 percent in total viewers (7.179 million vs. 6.278 million).

So far this season, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" added an average 27 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure. In total viewers, "SVU Event" has added an average 18 percent or more than 1.6 million persons in going from "live plus same day" to "live plus seven day."

Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET, "Law & Order: Los Angeles" averaged a 1.7/5 in 18-49 and 6.8 million viewers overall against special competition in the time period from ABC's "CMA Awards," which generated more than three times the 18-49 rating ABC has averaged in the slot over the prior three weeks (4.7 vs. 1.4). "Law & Order: LA" finished within a tenth of a rating point of second place in adults 18-49 and was #2 or tied for #2 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults, men and women 18-34.

"Law & Order: LA" maintained its 18-49 rating from its first half-hour to its second, marking the fourth time in five telecasts that the drama has improved or maintained its rating from half-hour to half-hour.

So far this season, "Law & Order: Los Angeles" added an average 20 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure

On Thursday, Nov. 11 from 8-8:30 p.m. ET, "Community" (2.0/6 in 18-49, 4.5 million viewers overall) delivered its top 18-49 rating since October 14. Despite time-period competition that included CBS's "Big Bang Theory," "Community" was up 5 percent in 18-49 rating versus NBC's average in the slot during the traditional 2009-10 season (1.9, non-sports, "live plus same day"). In the time period, "Community" ranked #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in men 18-34 and men 18-49 (tie).

So far this season, "Community" has added an average 26 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure, making it the #4 biggest gainer on a percentage basis among half-hour comedies, behind only "The Office," "Modern Family" and "30 Rock."

Thursday from 8:30-9 p.m. ET, "30 Rock" (2.4/7 in 18-49, 5.1 million viewers overall) matched the show's highest 18-49 rating since its October 14 live telecast. "30 Rock" built on its lead-in by 20 percent in 18-49 rating and 12 percent in total viewers. "30 Rock" was also up 26 percent in adults 18-49 versus NBC's slot average during the traditional 2009-10 season (1.9, non-sports, "live plus same day").

In the time period, "30 Rock" ranked #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults and men 18-34 and #2 in men 18-49 and men 25-54.

So far this season, "30 Rock" has added an average 27 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure, making it the #3 biggest gainer on a percentage basis among half-hour comedies, behind only "The Office" and "Modern Family."

Thursday from 9-9:31 p.m. ET, "The Office" (3.6/10 in adults 18-49, 7.2 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in its time period in adults 18-49 and #1, ahead of ABC's "Grey's Anatomy," CBS's "CSI" and Fox's "Fringe," in adults 18-34 and all key adult-male demos - men 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54. Versus its average for the May sweep, "The Office" was up 3 percent in 18-49 rating (3.6 vs. 3.5) and 6 percent in total viewers (7.150 million vs. 6.771 million).

So far this season, "The Office" has added an average 31 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure. On a percentage basis, "The Office" is the #1 biggest gainer from "live plus same day" to "live plus seven" among all half-hour comedies on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CW.

Thursday from 9:31-10 p.m. ET, "Outsourced" (2.6/7 in 18-49, 5.5 million viewers overall) was the #1 telecast on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in men 18-34 and men 18-49 and was #2 in adults 18-34 and men 25-54. "Outsourced" retained 72 percent of its 18-49 lead-in from "The Office," the top "Outsourced" retention of "The Office" since September 30.

So far this season, "Outsourced" has added an average 21 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure. On a percentage basis, "Outsourced" is the #1 biggest gainer going from "live plus same day" to "live plus seven" among all first-year half-hour comedies on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CW.

Thursday at 10 p.m. ET, "The Apprentice" (1.4/4 in 18-49, 4.0 million viewers overall) matched its highest 18-49 rating since September 16, the night of the show's season premiere. In total viewers, "Apprentice" delivered its second biggest overall audience since that same date.

So far this season, "The Apprentice" has added an average 27 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure. "The Apprentice" is tied for the #1 percentage increase among unscripted shows, with "America's Next Top Model."

On Friday, Nov. 12 from 8-9 p.m. ET, "School Pride" averaged a 0.6/2 in 18-49 and 2.2 million viewers overall.

Friday from 9-11 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" (1.4/5 in 18-49, 5.8 million viewers overall) reported its highest 18-49 rating in five weeks (since October 8).

From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Dateline" grew by 55 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.7 from a 1.1) and by 40 percent or 1.9 million persons in total viewers (to 6.6 million from 4.7 million). For the 10:30 p.m. lead-in to local news, "Dateline" ranked #1 in the key news demo of adults 25-54 with a 2.4 rating versus a 2.3 for CBS's second-place "Blue Bloods," reversing the order in the prior half-hour when it was a 2.4 for "Blue Bloods" versus a 2.3 for "Dateline."

For its second hour from 10-11 p.m. ET, "Dateline" tied for #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 and was #1 or tied for #1 in men 18-49 and all key adult-female demos.

On Saturday, Oct. 30 from 8-9 p.m. ET, "Outlaw" (0.5/2 in 18-49, 3.3 million viewers overall) increased by 20 percent in 18-49 rating from its first half-hour to its second (to a 0.6 from a 0.5).

Saturday at 9 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast "Law & Order: Los Angeles" (0.6/2 in 18-49, 3.1 million viewers overall) grew from half-hour to half-hour by 20 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 0.6 from a 0.5) and by 29 percent in women 18-49 (0.9 vs. 0.7).

Saturday at 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (1.1/4 in 18-49, 5.0 million viewers overall) built on its lead-in by 83 percent in 18-49 rating and 60 percent in total viewers. "SVU" grew from its first half-hour to its second by 30 percent in adult 18-49 rating (to a 1.3 from a 1.0) and 22 percent in total viewers (5.5 million vs. 4.5 million). In the time period, "Law & Order; SVU" finished #1 or tied for #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in women 18-34, women 18-49 and women 25-54.

On Sunday Nov. 14, the "NBC Sunday Night Football" telecast of the New England Patriots at the Pittsburgh Steelers propelled NBC to a primetime win in virtually all key demographic measures - NBC ranked #1 Sunday night in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, adults 25-54, total viewers and all key adult-male demos - men 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54. NBC also ranked #1 for the night among women 18-49 and women 25-54. For its full duration, the Patriots-Steelers NFL game averaged an 8.1/20 in adults 18-49, 21.2 million viewers overall and a 12.8/20 household rating/share from 8:31-11:24 p.m. ET.

NBC's margin of victory over the #2 network Sunday night was 33 percent in 18-49 rating (a 6.8 vs. a 5.1 from 7-10:02 p.m. for Fox, which was boosted by an NFL overrun) and 47 percent in total viewers (18.1 million vs. 12.8 million for Fox).

Also on Sunday, "Football Night in America 2" from 7:30-7:58 p.m. ET averaged a 1.6/4 in 18-49, 4.6 million viewers overall and a 2.9/5 household rating/share. "Football Night in America 3" from 7:58-8:22 p.m. delivered a 4.3/12 in 18-49, 12.4 million viewers overall and a 7.3/12 in households. From 8:22-8:31 p.m., "NBC Sunday Night Football Pre Kickoff" averaged a 6.0/16 in 18-49, 16.6 million viewers overall and a 9.8/15 in households. Note: "Football Night in America" from 7-7:30 p.m. ET was sustaining programming and does not figure in the nightly or weekly primetime averages.
