The premiere of SURVIVOR: NICARAGUA placed first in its new Wednesday (8:00-9:00 PM) time period in adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and adults 25-54 with year-to-year gain in all measures, according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings for Sept. 15.
Opposite "America's Got Talent" (NBC), "Masterchef" (FOX) and "America's Next Top Model" (CW), SURVIVOR: NICARAGUA won its time slot in adults 25-54 (5.0/14), adults 18-49 (3.9/12), adults 18-34 (2.6/09) and placed second in households (6.8/11) and viewers (12.01m).
SURVIVOR was the night's No.1 program in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54.
Compared to last September's SURVIVOR: SAMOA first episode (on Thursday, 9/17/09), SURVIVOR: NICARAGUA SPECIAL was up +9% in adults 25-54 (from 4.6/13), +8% in both adults 18-49 (from 3.6/11) and adults 18-34 (from 2.4/08) and added +340,000 viewers (from 11.67m, +3%).
The finale of BIG BROTHER was tied for first in adults 18-34 (2.4/07, with NBC), second in households (4.5/08), viewers (7.89m), adults 25-54 (3.5/09) and adults 18-49 (2.9/08). This was the best rating for BIG BROTHER on any night this season in adults 25-54, matches the best adults 18-49 performance this season and was the season's second best viewers delivery.
BIG BROTHER was first in adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and adults 25-54 from 10:00-11:00 PM.
Compared to last year's season finale (on Tuesday, September 15, 2009), BIG BROTHER 12 WEDNESDAY was up +3% in adults 25-54 (from 3.4/08), +4% in adults 18-49 (from 2.8/08), even in adults 18-34 and added +100,000 viewers (from 7.79m, +1%).
For the night, CBS was second in households (5.3/09), viewers (9.26m), adults 25-54 (4.0/10) and adults 18-49 (3.2/09, -0.1 behind NBC).
