Maury "The Jerry Springer Show" and "The Steve Wilkos Show" Kick Off the 2009-10 Season with Strong Ratings Gains

The Three Nationally Syndicated Talk Shows Based in New Stamford, Ct. Studio Show Year-to-Year Growth in Households and All Key Demos

STAMFORD, CT - September 29, 2009 - NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution's "The Jerry Springer Show," "The Steve Wilkos Show" and "Maury" all started the new season with strong ratings growth �-three of only four talk shows to post year-to-year gains.

The three nationally syndicated talk shows, which all recently moved into new production facilities in Stamford, Connecticut, jumped as much as 33% in household ratings and 50% in key demographics versus premiere week numbers a year ago, according to Nielsen Media Research data.

"We couldn't be happier about our premiere week numbers," says "Maury" Executive Producer Paul Faulhaber. "Not only did we update the look of our show with some new set pieces and graphics, but most importantly, we've gone back to basics editorially. We are booking compelling guests with incredible stories and letting Maury take the viewer on the daily journey."

"The move to Stamford, CT., has been a very positive one for us," says Rachelle Wilkos, Executive Producer of "The Jerry Springer Show" and "The Steve Wilkos Show." "Both shows have more energy and excitement and Steve also has a new look, set and feel. The fact that the viewers are responding is very gratifying."

"The Jerry Springer Show" rose 33% (1.2 vs. 0.9) vs. the same week last year (week of Sept. 14, 2009 vs. week of Sept. 15, 2008) in household ratings for the premiere week of the show's 19th season. The talker also rose 27% in total viewers (1.7 million vs. 1.3 million), 50% in Women 18-34 (.6 vs. .4) and 40% in both Women 18-49 (.7 vs. .5) and Women 25-54 (.7 vs. .5). To start the 2009-10 season, "Springer" delivered year-to-year time period growth in New York (+10%), Los Angeles (+60%), Chicago (+25%), Philadelphia (+8%), Dallas (+30%) and many other top markets.

"Maury" rose 6% (1.8 vs. 1.7) vs. the same week last year in households to start its 12th season and saw across-the-board gains in all key demos, as well. And "Maury" delivered year-to-year time period growth in New York (+17%), Los Angeles (+25%), Chicago (+18%) and other top markets.

For the start of its third season, "The Steve Wilkos Show" grew 10% (1.1 vs. 1.0) vs. the same week last year in households and also saw across-the-board gains in total viewers and all key demos. "Wilkos" jumped 33% in both Women 18-34 (.8 vs. .6) and Women 18-49 (.8 vs. .6) and 17% in total viewers (1.6 million vs. 1.3) And "Wilkos" scored year-to-year time period growth for its stations in New York (+67%), Los Angeles (+33%), Philadelphia (+7%), Dallas (+30%) and many others.
