The Emmys Up +9% in Viewers, Adults 18-34 and Adults 25-54; +11% in Adults 18-49 Versus Last Year

"Big Brother 11" Concludes with Across-the-Board Increases Compared to Last Summer's Finale

The 61ST PRIMETIME EMMY AWARDS, the premiere of SURVIVOR: SAMOA and the finale of BIG BROTHER 11 led CBS to second place finishes in viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 in the week ending Sept.20, the final week of the 2008-2009 television year.

For the week in viewers: CBS (8.25m), NBC (11.63m), FOX (5.31m) and ABC (4.42m). Since Memorial Day, CBS is first in viewers (6.79m and the only network up compared to last summer, +3%), ahead of NBC (6.24m), FOX (5.22m) and ABC (4.67m).

For the week in key demographics, CBS was second in adults 25-54 (3.0/08) and adults 18-49 (2.4/07). Compared to the same week last year (which did not including the first SURVIVOR episode or the EMMY AWARDS), CBS was up +2% in households, +5% in viewers, +11% in adults 25-54 and +14% in adults 18-49.

For the week in households: CBS (5.3/09), NBC (7.3/12), FOX (3.3/06) and ABC (2.9/05). Since Memorial Day, CBS is first (4.5/08), ahead of NBC (4.0/07), FOX (3.2/06) and ABC (3.0/05).

CBS's Weekly Highlights:

? 61st ANNUAL EMMY AWARDS (S) (8:00-11:05PM) was second in households (8.7/14), viewers (13.47m), adults 25-54 (4.9/11), adults 18-49 (4.2/11) and adults 18-34 (3.5/10) - only behind NBC's coverage of the New York Giants at the Dallas Cowboys at the new Cowboys Stadium. Compared to last year's ceremony (on ABC), THE EMMY AWARDS was up +6% in households (from 8.2/13) +9% in both adults 25-54 (from 4.5/10) and adults 18-34 (from 3.2/08), +11% in adults 18-49 (from 3.8/09) and added +1.13m viewers (from 12.34m, +9%).

This was THE EMMY AWARDS best delivery in households and viewers since 2006 (when it did not air against football), in key demos since 2007.

? BIG BROTHER 11 TUESDAY (9:01-11:00PM) was second in households (4.8/08), viewers (7.78m), adults 25-54 (3.4/08), adults 18-49 (2.8/08) and adults 18-34 (2.4/07). Compared to the one-hour BIG BROTHER 10 finale on the same night last year, BIG BROTHER 11 TUESDAY was up +6% in adults 25-54 (from 3.2/07), +4% in adults 18-49 (from 2.7/07), +14% in adults 18-34 (from 2.1/06) and added +200,000 viewers (from 7.58m, +3%). This matches BIG BROTHER 11's best delivery on any night in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-34, is the second best delivery in adults 18-49.

-- Over 57.7 million viewers watched all or part of CBS's BIG BROTHER 11 this summer.

-- From 10:30-11:00PM, BIG BROTHER 11 TUESDAY finished ahead of NBC's "The Jay Leno Show" in first place among adults 18-34 (2.5/08 vs. 2.4/08, +4%) and tied for first in adults 18-49 (3.0/09, each).

-- Compared to last summer's edition, BIG BROTHER 11 was up +7% in viewers (7.19m from 6.72m), +5% in adults 18-34 (2.0/07 from 1/9/06). +3% in adults 25-54 (3.1/08 from 3.0/08) and even in adults 18-49 (2.5/08).

? SURVIVOR SAMOA SPECIAL (S) (8:00-8:59PM) was first in households (6.8/11), viewers (11.66m), adults 25-54 (4.6/13), adults 18-49 (3.6/11) and adults 18-34 (2.4/08).
