SYFY CELEBRATES FIRST MONTH OF NEW BRAND IDENTITY WITH BEST JULY EVER AMONG TOTAL VIEWERS AND WOMEN 25-54
SYFY WAS THE #3 CABLE NETWORK AMONG ADULTS 25-54 FOR FIRST WEEK AS SYFY
New York, NY � July 28, 2009 � Syfy marked the first month of its new brand identity by scoring its best July ever in its 17-year history among total viewers (1,358,000) and Women 25�54 (319,000), propelled by its hit series Eureka and Warehouse 13. During the week that SCI FI became Syfy, it was the #3 cable entertainment network among Adults 25-54 (939,000).
Warehouse 13's strong premiere ranked as the third most-watched series telecast in Syfy's history, with a 2.8 HH rating and 3,997,000 total viewers; 1,903,000 Adults 25-54 and 1,488,000 Adults 18-49. Fueled by new episodes of Eureka, Syfy was the #1 ranked cable entertainment network in the Friday 9�10 pm time period in July among Adults 18-49, Adults 25-54, Men 18-49, Men 25-54 and Women 25-54.
Syfy was the #6 ranked cable entertainment network among Adults 25-54 (707,000) and the #8 ranked network among Adults 18-49 (619,000).
Syfy also ranked in the top ten among total viewers and in all key male demos, and was up year over year among Adults 18-49 (+2%), Adults 25-54 (+3%), and total viewers (+6%). In key male and female demos, Syfy was up among Men 18-49 (+3%), Men 25-54 (+1%), Women 18-49(+2%) and Women 25-54 (+3%).
Programming Highlights
With final DVR playback, the July 7th series premiere of Warehouse 13 averaged 2.8 HH rating, 3,997,000 total viewers, 1,903,000 Adults 25-54 and 1,488,000 Adults18-49. The July 7th Warehouse 13 premiere was the #2 primetime cable program for Adults 25-54 and beat new episodes of TNT's Saving Grace by +20% and Hawthorne by +25%.
To date, the first season of Warehouse 13 is averaging a 2.6 HH rating; 3,576,000 total viewers; 1,690,000 Adults 25-54 and 1,319,000 Adults18-49.
The Friday July 10th season 3.5 premiere of Eureka added nearly 700,000 total viewers from 7-day DVR playback. The Eureka premiere averaged a 2.3 HH rating; 3,281,000 total viewers; 1,786,000 Adults 25-54 and 1,421,000 Adults18-49 making it the #1 program in cable for both Adults 25-54 and Adults18-49 that night.
To date, season 3.5 of Eureka is averaging a 2.0 HH rating, 2,797,000 total viewers; 1,480,000 Adults 25-54 and 1,152,000 Adults 18-49.
The second season of Ghost Hunters International is averaging a 1.4 HH rating, 1,928,000 total viewers; 1,262,000 Adults 25-54 and 1,156,000 Adults 18-49.
