TNT Scores Four New Ad-Supported Cable Records With Best Monthly Deliveries Ever

Thanks to one of the most spectacular NBA Playoff series ever, TNT has smashed four ad-supported cable records, scoring the largest audience deliveries of any month in ad-supported cable history:
� Best monthly delivery of all time among adults 18-49 in primetime: 1,940,000
� Best monthly delivery of all time among adults 18-49 in total day: 838,000
� Best monthly delivery of all time among adults 25-54 in primetime: 1,889,000
� Best monthly delivery of all time among adults 25-54 in total day: 833,000
TNT garnered personal-best monthly deliveries for the network in primetime among adults 18-34 (997,000); viewers (3,560,000); and households (2,634,000), ranking as ad-supported cable's #1 network for May in all three categories. The network also scored personal-best monthly deliveries in total day among adults 18-34 (409,000); viewers (1,527,000); and households (1,230,000).
TNT's extraordinary performance for the month was driven primarily by record-breaking viewership for its coverage of the 2009 NBA Playoffs. As reported yesterday, TNT's NBA Playoff coverage averaged a 3.1 national household rating for 43 games, up 19% over last year. The NBA Playoffs also delivered 4,714,000 total viewers for TNT, a 24% increase compared to last year. The following are additional increases the NBA Playoffs garnered for TNT this year:
� Households: +19% (3,513,000)
� Adults 18-34: +19% (1,455,000)
� Adults 18-49: +19% (2,682,000)
� Adults 25-54: +23% (2,518,000)
� Men 18-34: +13% (1,033,000)
� Men 18-49: +17% (1,882,000)
� Men 25-54: +22% (1,756,000)
TNT netted several milestones during the 2009 NBA Playoffs, including the most watched NBA cable telecast of all time and the most watched cable telecast for the year-to-date (Game 4 of Eastern Conference Finals, Orlando Magic vs. Cleveland Cavaliers) � 10,075,000 viewers); the most watched first round game in cable history (Game 7, Chicago Bulls vs. Boston Celtics); the most watched second round NBA Playoff game in cable history (Game 7, Orlando Magic @ Boston Celtics); and the most watched first round in cable history.
Wrapping up this past weekend, TNT's exclusive coverage of the 2009 NBA Eastern Conference Finals averaged a 5.4 national household rating, a 29% increase over its 2008 Western Conference Finals coverage. The Finals also scored an increase of 36% in total viewers (8,633,000) and a 29% rise in households (6,143,000). When compared to last year's Eastern Conference Finals on ABC/ESPN, TNT's 2009 coverage yielded a 35% increase in national household rating (4.0) and a 45% increase in total viewers (5,964,000).
