CBS SWEEPS WEDNESDAY FOR THE SECOND CONSECUTIVE WEEK
CBS Places First in Viewers and Key Demographics Opposite Highly Promoted Season Premieres
8:00-9:00 PM Comedy Block Grows from Premiere Week
"Criminal Minds" and "CSI: NY" Dominate Their Time Periods in All Measures
CBS placed first on Wednesday in all key measures for the second consecutive week of the new season led again by dominating performances by CRIMINAL MINDS and CSI: NY and growth in the 8:00-9:00 PM comedy block, according to preliminary Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Oct. 1.
CBS's new Wednesday comedy hour (8:00-9:00 PM) posted a +4% increase in viewers from premiere week (6.92m from 6.67m)
THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE (4.7/08, 6.86m) averaged a 2.0/06 in adults 18-49 and 2.6/07 in adults 25-54. Compared to last week's season premiere, OLD CHRISTINE was up +9% in households (from 4.3/07) and added +340,000 viewers (from 6.52m, +5%).
GARY UNMARRIED (4.7/07, 6.98m) averaged a 2.2/06 in adults 18-49 and 2.8/07 in adults 25-54. Compared to last week's series premiere, GARY UNMARRIED was up +4% in households (from 4.5/07) and added +160,000 viewers (from 6.82m, +2%). GARY UNMARRIED improved on its OLD CHRISTINE lead-in by +2% in viewers, +8% in adults 25-54 and +10% in adults 18-49.
CRIMINAL MINDS won its time slot in households (9.3/14), viewers (14.51m), adults 25-54 (5.3/12) and adults 18-49 (3.8/10) for the second consecutive week.
CSI: NY won its time slot in households (9.5/16), viewers (14.67m), adults 25-54 (5.4/13) and adults 18-49 (4.1/11) for the second consecutive week. CSI: NY scored its best households, viewers and adults 25-54 deliveries since Feb. 14, 2007 and best in adults 18-49 since Dec. 12, 2007. Compared to last week's season premiere, CSI: NY was up +3% in both households (from 9.2/16) and adults 18-49 (from 4.0/11), +4% in adults 25-54 (from 5.2/13) and added +80,000 viewers (from 14.59m, +1%). CSI: NY was the night's #1 program in households, viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49.
For the night, CBS was first in households (7.9/13), viewers (12.03m), adults 25-54 (4.5/11) and adults 18-49 (3.3/09) for the second consecutive Wednesday.
