'THE BABY BORROWERS' RANKS #9 FOR THE WEEK IN ADULTS 18-49 AND #3 AMONG WOMEN 18-34

BURBANK, Calif. � July 22, 2008 � Paced by "America's Got Talent," which was the #1 non-sports telecast of the week in adults 18-49 (tie), total viewers and other key categories, NBC tied for second place in adults 18-49 for the week of July 14-20. NBC averaged a 1.5 rating, 5 share in adults 18-49 and 5.5 million viewers overall for the week, according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

"America's Got Talent" was the week's #1 non-sports telecast in total viewers, behind only baseball's All-Star Game. It was "Talent's" largest viewership this season and the biggest audience for any non-sports telecast on any network since May 22. "Talent" tied for the week's #1 non-sports rating in adults 18-49 and was #1 or tied for #1 among adults, men and women 25-54 and teens 12-17. In fact, "Talent" this week ranked among the top 10 programs in every meaningful adult demographic measure, male and female � adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 � as well as among teens 12-17 and kids 2-11.

Also making a strong showing for NBC last week was "The Baby Borrowers," which ranked among the top 10 shows in numerous key demographics, including adults 18-49 (#9), women 18-34 (#3) and teens (tied for #7).

Primetime averages for the week of July 14-20 in adults 18-49 were Fox (2.3/8), NBC, ABC, CBS and Univision (1.5/5), CW (0.6/2) and Telemundo (0.4/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were Fox (7.1 million), CBS (6.4 million), NBC (5.5 million), ABC (4.5 million), Univision (3.4 million), CW (1.7 million) and Telemundo (1.0 million).

Through 43 weeks of the 2007-08 season, Fox leads in primetime's key demographic of adults 18-49, while the race for #2 remains close, with only 0.2 of a rating point separating ABC, CBS and NBC. Season-to-date averages in adults 18-49 for the period September 24, 2007 through July 20, 2008 are Fox (3.9/11), ABC (2.8/8), CBS (2.7/8), NBC (2.6/7), Univision (1.5/4), CW (1.0/3) and Telemundo (0.4/1).

NBC is the only major network that has not seen its audience get significantly older this season versus last and it is now the "second-youngest" of the major broadcast networks. Through the first 43 weeks of the 2007-08 season, NBC is running within 0.4 years of its median age from the prior season (48.7 years this season vs. 48.3 years last season). In this same comparison, ABC's median age has increased by 1.8 years (to 48.9 from 47.1 years old at this point last season), CBS's median age has increased by 0.9 years (to 53.3 from 52.4) and Fox's median age has increased by 1.4 years (to 43.9 from 42.5).

NBC highlights for the week of July 14-20:

* On Monday, "American Gladiators" finished within 0.1 of a rating point of the time-period lead in 18-49 and ranked #1 or tied for #1 among adults 18-34, teens and kids.

* Also on Monday, "Nashville Star" delivered its biggest overall audience since June 16.

* On Tuesday, "America's Got Talent" delivered the biggest total-viewer result for any non-sports telecast on any network since the May 22 season finale of ABC's "Grey's Anatomy."

* In its five weeks on the air so far this summer, "America's Got Talent" has now delivered the five most-watched primetime telecasts in total viewers on any network since the May 29 season finale of "Lost" (excluding sports telecasts).

* Also on Tuesday, "Celebrity Family Feud" retained 95 percent of its 18-49 rating of the prior week and grew by 4 percent in total viewers, despite last week's exceptional competition from Fox's coverage of baseball's All-Star Game.

* On Thursday, "Last Comic Standing" ranked #2 in its time period in adults 18-49 and #1 in men 18-49 and other key adult-male demographics. "Last Comic" grew by 31 percent in 18-49 rating from its first half-hour to its fourth.

* On Sunday, "Dateline NBC" led its second hour, from 10-11 p.m., in all key ratings categories, leading NBC to a tie for the nightlong win in adults 18-49. This marks the fifth time in eight weeks that NBC has finished #1 or tied for #1 on Sunday night.

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

Additional NBC highlights for the week of July 14-20:

On Monday, July 14 from 8-9 p.m. ET, "American Gladiators" (1.7 rating, 5 share in adults 18-49, 5.0 million viewers overall) finished within 0.1 of a rating point of the time-period lead in 18-49 and ranked #1 or tied for #1 among adults 18-34, teens and kids. From its first half-hour to its second, "Gladiators" increased its 18-49 rating by 20 percent (to a 1.8/6 from a 1.5/5).

Monday from 9-10 p.m. ET, "Nashville Star" averaged a 1.5/4 in 18-49 and 5.9 million viewers overall. In total viewers, "Nashville Star" was up week-to-week by 10 percent (5.9 million vs. 5.4 million), for the biggest "Nashville Star" overall audience since June 16. From its first half-hour to its second, "Nashville Star" last week increased its 18-49 rating by 21 percent (to a 1.7/5 from a 1.4/4) and its overall viewership by 16 percent (to 6.4 million from 5.5 million).

Monday from 10-11 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" delivered a 1.6/5 in 18-49 and 6.3 million viewers overall. "Dateline" tied for #2 in the time period in 18-49 and was #2 outright in total viewers, adults 25-54 and other key categories.

On Tuesday, July 15 from 8-9 p.m. ET, "Celebrity Family Feud" (2.0/7 in 18-49, 7.8 million viewers overall) finished within a tenth of a point of the prior week's 18-49 rating and delivered a 4 percent gain in total viewers week-to-week, despite last week's competition from Fox's coverage of baseball's All-Star Game. While "Celebrity Family Feud" finished within 5 percent of its week-ago 18-49 rating, ABC's "Wipeout" in the same hour dropped by 20 percent versus the previous week's result (3.2 vs. 4.0).

Tuesday from 9-10 p.m. ET, "America's Got Talent" (3.2/9 in 18-49, 12.8 million viewers overall) delivered its biggest overall audience of the summer to date and the biggest total-viewer result for any non-sports telecast on any network since the "Grey's Anatomy" season finale on May 22. "America's Got Talent" was the #1 non-sports telecast in its time period last week in virtually all key ratings categories. "America's Got Talent" dominated CBS's Tuesday premiere of "Big Brother" in all key ratings categories.

In its five weeks on the air this summer, "America's Got Talent" has now delivered the five top non-sports primetime telecasts on any network since the May 29 season finale of ABC's "Lost" in total viewers.

Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" averaged a 1.5/4 in 18-49 and 6.1 million viewers overall.

On Wednesday, July 16 from 9-10:01 p.m. ET, the fourth episode of "The Baby Borrowers" (2.4/7 in 18-49, 5.9 million viewers overall) built by 85 percent in 18-49 rating on its lead-in from the previous hour � a 1.3/4 in 18-49 and 4.0 million viewers overall for an 8-9 p.m. encore of the previous week's" Baby Borrowers." "The Baby Borrowers" at 9 p.m. ranked #2 in its competitive time period in adults 18-49 and most other key measures.

Wednesday from 10:01-11 p.m. ET, "Celebrity Circus" averaged a 1.6/5 in 18-49 and 4.5 million viewers overall.

On Thursday, July 17 from 8-10 p.m. ET, "Last Comic Standing" (1.9/6 in 18-49, 4.5 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-49 and #1 in men 18-49, men 18-34 (tied) and men 25-54. From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Last Comic" increased by 31 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.1 from a 1.6) and by 17 percent in total viewers (to 4.9 million from 4.1 million). From 10-11 p.m., "Fear Itself" averaged a 1.0/3 in 18-49 and 2.9 million viewers overall.

On Friday, July 18 from 8-8:30 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Most Outrageous Moments" averaged a 1.1/4 in 18-49 and 4.1 million viewers overall. From 8:30-9 p.m., another encore edition of "Most Outrageous Moments" delivered a 1.0/4 in 18-49 and 3.9 million viewers overall.

Friday from 9-11p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" (1.3/5 in 18-49, 5.8million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 25-54.

On Saturday, July 19 from 8-8:30 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "My Name is Earl" averaged a 0.5/2 in 18-49 and 1.8 million viewers overall. From 8:30-9 p.m., a second "My Name is Earl" rebroadcast delivered a 0.7/3 in 18-49 and 2.1 million viewers overall, building on its lead-in by 40 percent in 18-49 and 22 percent in total viewers.

At 9 p.m. Saturday, a rebroadcast of "Law & Order" (0.9/3 in 18-49, 4.1 million viewers overall) locked up NBC's highest 18-49 rating and total-viewer result in this time period in four weeks (since June 21). "Law & Order" ranked #2 or tied for #2 in the time slot in total viewers and all key adult-male demographics.

Saturday from 10-11 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" (1.2/4 in 18-49, 5.3 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-49 and #1 or tied for #1 among adults, men and women 18-34 and men 18-49. "Criminal Intent" attracted NBC's highest total viewership in this time period in five weeks (since June 14).

On Sunday, July 20 from 7-8 p.m. ET, encore telecasts of "Most Outrageous Moments" delivered a 0.7/3 in 18-49 and 2.9 million viewers from 7-7:30 p.m. and a 0.9/3 in 18-49 and 3.2 million viewers overall from 7:30-8 p.m., increasing by 29 percent in 18-49 rating from half-hour to half-hour.

From 8-9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "America's Got Talent" averaged a 1.4/4 in 18-49 and 5.4 million viewers overall. From its first half-hour to its second, "Talent" increased by 25 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.5/5 from a 1.2/4) and by 26 percent or 1.3 million persons in total viewers (to 6.0 million from 4.7 million).

The "America's Got Talent" encore ranked #2 in the time period in total viewers and topped ABC's debut of "High School Musical: Get in the Picture" in most key measures, including adults, men and women 18-49 and teens 12-17.

Sunday from 9-11 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" (1.9/6 in 18-49, 7.8 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-49 and #1 in adults 25-54, total viewers and other key measures. From 10-11 p.m., "Dateline" ranked #1 in all key measures and topped the ABC-CBS competition combined in total viewers.

NBC tied for #1 Sunday in adults 18-49, marking the fifth time in the last eight Sundays that NBC has ranked #1 or tied for #1.
