WEEK No. 28:

Rankings: ABC aired 4 of the week's Top 20 TV shows among Adults 18-49: "Dancing with the Stars" No. 7, "Dancing w/Stars Results" No. 12 and "Oprah's Big Give" and "Here Come the Newlyweds" tied at No. 20. Additionally the Net claimed 2 of the Top 5 most-watched television shows for the week, with "Dancing with the Stars" (No. 4) and "Dancing w/Stars Results" (No. 5). The "ABC News Special: Live To Be 150Can You Do It?" stood as the No. 1 news program of the week in Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54.

A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating trends based on the Live + Same Day data stream may be somewhat distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped from over 14% at the same point in 2006, up to more than 23% currently. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.

Monday

For the third week in a row, ABC ranked as Monday's most-watched TV network, outdrawing second-place CBS on the night by 2.1 million viewers (14.5 million vs. 12.7 million). The Network also earned the No. 1 position on the evening for the third straight week across each of the key women demos: W18-34 (4.2/11), W18-49 (5.8/14) and W25-54 (7.2/16).

"DWTS the Results Show" grew from its week-earlier season premiere among Adults 18-49 (4.0/10 vs. 3.9/9) and Adults 25-54 (5.2/12 vs. 5.0/11).

A repeat airing of ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" ranked a strong No. 1 in the 8 o'clock hour among Total Viewers (9.7 million) and Adults 18-49 (3.0/8). In fact ABC's repeat unscripted series overshadowed CBS' original "Big Brother 9" by 3.4 million viewers and by 36% in young adults (6.3 million & 2.2/6) and NBC's broadcast premiere of "Monk" by 4.0 million viewers and by 100% (5.7 million & 1.5/4).
