"20/20: THE FINAL HOURS OF NATALEE HOLLOWAY" SPECIAL IS HIGHEST RATED "20/20" IN OVER A YEAR
NEARLY 12.7 MILLION TOTAL VIEWERS TUNE IN
Monday night's "20/20: The Final Hours of Natalee Holloway" garnered 12.7 million Total Viewers and a 4.3 rating in the key 18-49 Adult demographic. Among Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers, this was the highest rated "20/20" since September 27, 2006.
Co-anchored by Chris Cuomo in Amsterdam and Elizabeth Vargas in Aruba, the special took second place to NBC's "Deal or No Deal," with only 500,000 viewers separating the two. The 90-minute program outperformed CBS' debut of "The New Adventures of Old Christine" by over 3 million viewers and an episode "CSI: Miami" by nearly 4 million viewers. The special featured stunning new footage of Joran Van Der Sloot talking about the final hours of Natalee Holloway's life.
In February 2006, ABC News' "Primetime" drew an audience of 12.4 million viewers and a 4.4/11 in Adults 18-49 when the program featured Chris Cuomo's exclusive interview with Joran Van Der Sloot. That evening, "Primetime" drew its largest audience since April 2003 and garnered its top ratings across the adult demographics since November 2003.
