BURBANK, Calif. � December 19, 2007 � Last night's finale of "The Biggest Loser" and night two of "Clash of the Choirs" combined to propel NBC to a Tuesday win in adults 18-49, according to "fast affiliate-based" "live plus same day" viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research. This marks the third consecutive Tuesday that NBC has finished #1 or tied for #1 in adults 18-49.

Last night from 9-11 p.m. ET, the finale of "The Biggest Loser 5" (4.6 rating, 13 share in adults 18-49, 11.4 million viewers overall) dominated its two-hour time period with NBC's highest 18-49 rating in the slot in nearly a year (since January 2). In total viewers, this marks NBC's biggest overall audience in the time period in nearly four months (since August 21).

"The Biggest Loser" was the night's #1 telecast on any network in adults 18-49 and ranked #1 for its time period in every key ratings category � adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, and in total viewers. In the climactic 10-11 p.m. hour, "Loser" beat the ABC-CBS competition combined in adults 18-49, as well as in adults, men and women 18-34 and other measures.

"The Biggest Loser" delivered the heftiest results of its current cycle, topping its previous highs, set one week earlier, by 28 percent in 18-49 rating (4.6/13 vs. 3.6/9) and by 16 percent, or 1.6 million persons, in total viewers (11.4 million vs. 9.8 million). The "Loser" finale gained 48 percent in 18-49 rating versus the show's prior average this season (4.6 vs. 3.1). "The Biggest Loser 5" finale was also up 35 percent in 18-49 rating versus NBC's 2006-07 season average for the Tuesday 9-11 p.m. slot (4.6 vs. 3.4).

From 8-9 p.m. ET, night two of "Clash of the Choirs" (2.4/7 in 18-49, 7.7 million viewers overall) matched its 18-49 program rating from the previous night and built by 4 percent versus Monday night's comparable 8-9 p.m. hour (2.4/7 vs. 2.3/7). Pending updates, "Clash of the Choirs" is currently within 1 share of the time period lead in 18-49 and is ranking #1 among women 18-49 and women 18-34.

From its first to its second half-hour, "Clash of the Choirs" built by 18 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.6/8 from a 2.2/7), the most growth of any major network in the time period.

In head-to-head competition from 8-9 p.m. ET, "Clash of the Choirs" is currently matching ABC's "Duel" in adults 18-49 (both with a 2.4 rating), while "Clash" takes the lead in the 8:30-9 p.m. half-hour (with a 2.6/8 for "Clash" vs. a 2.5/7 for "Duel"), pending updates. "Clash" also outscored "Duel" for the full hour in total viewers (7.7 million vs. 7.3 million) and in all key adult-female demographics.
