Growing week to week, ABC took second place on Tuesday night in Adults 18-49 (3.3/9-tie), while ranking No. 1 with Women 18-49 (4.2/11-tie).
"Cavemen" (8:00-8:30 p.m.)
ABC's "Cavemen" was up from the prior week in both Adults 18-49 (2.7/8 vs. 2.6/8) and Adults 18-34 (2.3/8 vs. 2.2/8). The new ABC sitcom took second place in the half hour to Fox's baseball playoff coverage among Adults 18-34 (2.3/8) and Men 18-34 (2.2/8).
"Carpoolers" (8:30-9:00p.m.)
Opposite the start of Fox's "American League Championship Series � Game 4," ABC's "Carpoolers" held 100% of its lead-in among Total Viewers (7.0 million) and Adults 18-49 (2.7/7). "Carpoolers" built on its lead-in by 10% among Women 18-49 (3.3/8 vs. 3.0/9), taking second place in its half-hour.
"Dancing with the Stars the Results Show" (9:00-10:00 p.m.)
ABC's "Dancing with the Stars the Results Show" ranked No. 1 during the 9 o'clock hour in Total Viewers (17.0 million) and Adults 18-49 (4.3/11). "DWTS the Results Show" towered over its unscripted competition in the time period, NBC's "Biggest Loser," by a best-yet 10.1 million viewers and by 43% in Adults 18-49 ("Biggest Loser" = 6.9 million & 3.0/8). WBC Super Welterweight Boxing Champion Floyd Mayweather was the fourth celebrity dancer to be eliminated from the competition this season.
� ABC's "DWTS the Results Show" increased its overall audience for the second straight week, achieving season highs in both Total Viewers and Adults 18-49.
Boston Legal" (10:00-11:00 p.m.)
During the 10 o'clock hour, ABC's "Boston Legal" defeated CBS' "Cane" by a best-yet 1.7 million viewers (10.2 million vs. 8.5 million) and by 27% in Adults 18-49 (2.8/8 vs. 2.2/6).
A note about increasing DVR penetration and year to year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating trends based on the Live + Same Day data stream may be somewhat distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has more than doubled from 9% at this time last year up to 20% currently. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. Therefore, the only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
