Who Cares About Girls: Slave Girls of India Premieres as Highest Rated News Documentary Special in Oxygen History

New York � June 26, 2007 � Who Cares About Girls: Slave Girls of India premiered on Sunday, June 24 at 10 p.m. (ET/PT) with a strong 0.6 rating among households, making it the highest-rated and most-watched news documentary special in Oxygen history. It also garnered an impressive 0.4 among W18-49 and 0.5 among W18-34. The special doubled the year-ago time period performance for the network on a household basis.

The one-hour special, hosted by Lisa Ling, is the second installment of the Who Cares About Girls documentary series, which is dedicated to exploring how the world treats girls - who are vulnerable because of their age, their gender and their lack of status.

Who Cares About Girls: Daughters Left Behind, the premiere episode which aired March 25, was also a ratings success, scoring a 0.5 rating among households, W18-49, and among W18-34.
