February 8, 2007 (Burbank, California) - "Beauty and The Geek" delivered yet another strong performance for The CW, climbing to its best ratings since the two-hour premiere (1/3/07) in adults 18-34 (2.5/7), women 18-34 (3.4/9), adults 18-49 (2.1/5), women 18-49 (2.5/6) and viewers (4.4mil), according to preliminary live plus same day Nielsen ratings for Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007. This also marks this cycle's best ratings in the 8:00 p.m. hour in adults 18-34 (tie), women 18-34, adults 18-49 and women 18-49.
"Beauty and The Geek" ranked second in the hour in the target demos of adults 18-34 and women 18-34, behind only Fox.
"Beauty and The Geek" continued to build momentum with another week of increases, improving over last week by 4% in adults 18-34, 13% in women 18-34, 11% in adults 18-49, 14% in women 18-49 and 16% in viewers.
Last night's "Beauty and The Geek" also scored dramatic growth at 8:30 p.m., improving at the second half hour by 32% in adults 18-34, 23% in women 18-34, 28% in adults 18-49, 17% in women 18-49 and 20% in viewers.
"One Tree Hill" posted double-digit gains versus its previous original episode (1/24/07), including 27% in adults 18-34 (1.9/5), 18% in women 18-34 (2.6/6), 30% in adults 18-49 (1.3/3), 21% in women 18-49 (1.7/4) and 32% in viewers (2.9mil).
The CW's Wednesday line-up scored double- and triple-digit gains over UPN and The WB the same night a year ago (2/8/06). Compared to UPN, The CW was up 214% in adults 18-34 (2.2/6), 275% in women 18-34 (3.0/7), 143% in adults 18-49 (1.7/4), 200% in women 18-49 (2.1/5) and 108% in viewers (3.6mil). Versus The WB, The CW improved 38% in adults 18-34, 43% in women 18-34, 31% in adults 18-49, 31% in women 18-49 and 30% in viewers.
