NBC IS UP 16 PERCENT IN 18-49 THROUGH THE FIRST 10 WEEKS OF THE 2006-07 SEASON, THE MOST GROWTH OF ANY NETWORK

BURBANK, Calif. � November 28, 2006 � With three days left to be measured in the November sweep, NBC is on track to post significant increases versus last year, and is the only network to report year-to-year gains in primetime's key demographics, including adults 18-49, versus November 2005. For the holiday week of November 20-26, the last full measured week of the current sweep, NBC averaged a 3.3/9 in 18-49 and 9.7 million viewers overall, making NBC the only major network to report growth versus the same week last year in primetime's key demographic, according to "live plus same day" in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

With three nights remaining to be measured in the 28-night November 2006 sweep (25 nights vs. 25 nights), NBC is currently up 16 percent in adults 18-49 (3.7 vs. 3.2), up 11 percent in adults 25-54 (4.2 vs. 3.8), up 20 percent in 18-34 (3.0 vs. 2.5) and up 12 percent in total viewers (10.350 million vs. 9.240 million). NBC is the only network to exhibit year-to-year growth November 2006 versus November 2005 in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and adults 18-34.

NBC projects a 3.7 rating in adults 18-49 for the November 2006 sweep, a 12 percent increase versus the network's November 2005 final average (3.3 in 18-49), and NBC's best non-Olympic sweep performance since November 2004. NBC is projected to finish within 0.4 of a rating point of first place in adults 18-49 for the November sweep, marking a dramatic shift versus the network's deficit of 1.1 rating points in November 2005.

The projected 12 percent gain year-to-year is NBC's biggest increase in a major sweep month, excluding Olympics, since May 1995, and biggest for a November sweep in People Meter history (dating back to 1987). It's also the biggest year-to-year gain for any network in November since CBS in 2001.

In total viewers, NBC projects a 9 percent increase versus November 2005 (10.42 million vs. 9.56 million), NBC's biggest year-to-year increase in a November sweep in People Meter history.

In the valuable sales demographic of adults 18-34, NBC has vaulted from fourth place last November to second place this November, currently with an overall increase of 20 percent in that demo.

NBC's median age for the November 2006 sweep is 47.5 years, NBC's "youngest" finish for any sweep period since November 2004 (45.7).

Through Sunday, Nov. 26, with 25 nights of the 28-night sweep period measured, NBC is #2 in adults 18-49 (tied with CBS). Current November 2006 sweep averages in adults 18-49 are: ABC (4.1/11), NBC and CBS (3.7/10), Fox (2.9/8) and CW (1.4/4). In total viewers, the 25-night November sweep averages are CBS (12.8 million), ABC (11.8 million), NBC (10.4 million), Fox (7.1 million) and CW (3.4 million).

In the important 10:30-11 p.m. ET lead-in to local news, current November 2006 sweep averages in adults 25-54 are CBS (5.1), NBC (4.5) and ABC (3.3). Among adults 18-49, those sweep averages are CBS (4.0), NBC (3.8) and ABC (2.8). (Note: based on Monday-Friday, 10:30-11 p.m. ET, for the period November 2-November 26, 2006)

"Heroes" is the #1 new series of the November 2006 sweep in all key measures including adults 18-49 and total viewers. Among all 107 primetime programs during the sweep, "Heroes" ranked #7 in adults 18-49, #8 in adults 25-54 (tied), #3 in adults 18-34 and #14 in total viewers. Among men 18-49, "Heroes" was the #1-ranked scripted program during the November sweep, placing second overall to only "NBC Sunday Night Football," which was #1. "Heroes" is NBC's highest-rated new drama in adults 18-49 and overall total viewers during a November sweep in 12 years (since "ER" in 1994.)

Paced by "Heroes, " NBC led Monday nights in 18-49 with a 35 percent improvement over November 2005, earning the network's first Monday win in a November sweep since 1993.

NBC matched its year-ago Thursday sweep average in 18-49 (4.4), despite a significant increase in competition with ABC's addition of "Grey's Anatomy" to the night.

On Friday nights, NBC is up 22 percent versus November 2005 in 18-49 (2.8 vs. 2.3).

NBC's Sunday November average of a 6.0 in adults 18-49 is the highest rating for any network on any night during the sweep. NBC doubled its 3.0 Sunday average for November 2005 to earn the network's highest Sunday rating for a November sweep in 10 years.

"Heroes" ranks as the season's #1 new series in the key demographics of adults 18-34, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54, as well as in total viewers. In adults 18-49 season-to-date, "Heroes" ranks #5 (tied with "Sunday Night Football") among all 120 programs, trailing only "Grey's Anatomy," "Desperate Housewives," "CSI" and "Lost." In adults 18-34 season-to-date, "Heroes" is the #3 show on television, behind only "Grey's Anatomy" and "Desperate Housewives."

"Heroes" was the #1 new series of the week in adults 18-49, 18-34, 25-54 and total viewers. In adults 18-49, "Heroes" ranked #5 out of all 96 telecasts last week. In adults 25-54, "Heroes" was #5 and in adults 18-34, "Heroes" ranked #3.

NBC was the only network to show growth this week versus the comparable week last year. Versus the 10th week of last season, NBC this week was up 6 percent in adults 18-49 (3.3 vs. 3.3), up 6 percent in adults 25-54 (3.8 vs. 3.6), up 4 percent in 18-34 (2.6 vs. 2.5) and up 6 percent in total viewers (9.740 million vs. 9.170 million). All the other major networks exhibited declines in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, adults 18-34 and total viewers versus the comparable week last season.

For the first 10 weeks of the 2006-07 television season, only NBC and ABC are showing year-to-year gains in adults 18-49, with NBC posting by far the largest increases. NBC is up 16 percent versus the same period last year (3.7 rating versus 3.2). In that same comparison, ABC is up 2 percent, CBS is down 5 percent and Fox is down 9 percent. Season-to-date in total viewers, only NBC and ABC are showing gains year-to-year. NBC is up 10 percent versus the opening 10 weeks of the last season (10.280 million vs. 9.340 million). ABC is up 8 percent by that measure, while CBS is down 4 percent and Fox is down 4 percent.

Primetime averages for the week of November 20-26 in adults 18-49 were ABC (3.9/11), CBS, Fox and NBC (3.3/9), Univision (1.4/4), CW (1.3/3) and Telemundo (0.3/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (12.2 million), ABC (10.6 million), NBC (9.7 million), Fox (8.4 million), Univision (3.3 million), CW (3.1 million) and Telemundo (0.7 million).

NBC highlights for the week of November 20-26:

* On Monday, "Heroes" set new series records in 18-49, total viewers and other key measures. With a 6.9/16 in adults 18-49, "Heroes" soared to the highest 18-49 rating for any freshman series on any network this season.

* "Heroes" was Monday night's #1 program in adults 18-49 and other key measures. In adults 18-49 it won its time period with a 64 percent advantage over CBS' second-place comedies, and paced NBC to its eighth Monday win in adults 18-49 in 10 weeks this season.

* Led by "NBC Sunday Night Football," NBC soared 79 percent above its nightlong 18-49 average for the same Sunday last year.

* On Thursday, Thanksgiving Night, a special two-hour "Deal or No Deal" and an original "ER" combined to give NBC a 43 percent increase in 18-49 and a 71 percent increase in total viewers versus Thanksgiving Night last year. "ER" won its hour by virtually all key ratings measures.

* On Tuesday, "Law & Order: SVU" won its time period in numerous key measures including adults 18-49 and total viewers, versus competition that included ABC's telecast of the American Music Awards.

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

Additional NBC highlights for the week of November 20-26:

On Monday, Nov. 20 at 8 p.m. ET, "Deal or No Deal" (5.0 rating, 13 share in adults 18-49, 17.0 million viewers overall) ranked #1 by virtually all key measures, including adults 18-49 and total viewers.

Monday at 9 p.m. ET, "Heroes" (6.9/16 in 18-49, 16.0 million viewers overall) set new series records in 18-49, total viewers and other key measures. "Heroes" delivered the highest 18-49 rating for any first-year series on any network this season. In total viewers, this was the biggest overall audience for any freshman series this year since the "Ugly Betty" premiere on September 28.

"Heroes" generated NBC's highest 18-49 rating so far this season for any entertainment telecast. "Heroes" won the hour by all key measures. In adults 18-49, "Heroes" had a 64 percent advantage over its nearest competitor (6.9 vs.4.2 for CBS' comedies). It was Monday night's #1 telecast in adults 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54.

At 10 p.m. ET, "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" (3.1/8 in 18-49, 7.3 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in its time period in adults 18-49, 18-34, 25-54 and total viewers.

NBC won Monday night in adults 18-49, marking the network's eighth Monday win in 10 weeks this season. Versus the same night last year, NBC was up 25 percent in 18-49 (5.0 vs. 4.0) and by 15 percent or more than 1.7 million viewers overall (13.4 million vs. 11.7 million).

On Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 9 p.m. ET, "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" (2.3/6 in 18-49, 9.3 million viewers overall) built by 156 percent in adults 18-49 versus its lead-in from the previous hour � a 0.9/3 and 6.4 million viewers overall for the special "Target Presents Tony Bennett: An American Classic" from 8-9 p.m. ET.

At 10 p.m. ET, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (4.6/12 in 18-49, 14.2 million viewers overall) won its time period by numerous key measures including adults 18-49 and total viewers versus competition that included ABC's telecast of the American Music Awards.

On Wednesday, Nov. 22 from 8-10 p.m. ET, the special "Madonna: The Confessions Tour Live" averaged a 1.8/5 in 18-49 and 4.6 million viewers overall.

At 10 p.m. ET, "Medium" (2.5/7 in 18-49, 7.4 million overall) built by 39 percent in adults 18-49 on its lead-in from the previous hour � a 1.8/5 for the "Madonna" special. "Medium" ranked #2 in the hour in 18-49, total viewers and all key measures.

On Thursday, Nov. 23, Thanksgiving Night, from 8-10 p.m. ET, a special two-hour "Deal or No Deal" (3.5/10 in 18-49, 11.6 million viewers overall) was up 52 percent in 18-49 (3.5 vs. 2.3) and 86 percent in total viewers (11.6 million vs. 6.2 million) versus NBC's results in this time period on Thanksgiving Night last year. From its first to its fourth half-hour, "Deal" increased in 18-49 rating by 39 percent (to a 3.9/10 from a 2.8/9) and by more than 3.0 million total viewers (to 12.7 million from 9.7 million).

From 10-11 p.m. ET, "ER" (5.0/14 in 18-49, 13.0 million viewers overall) won the time period by virtually all key ratings measures. "ER" was up 35 percent in adults 18-49 (5.0 vs. 3.7) and by 4.3 million viewers overall (13.0 million vs. 8.7 million) versus NBC's performance in this hour last year on Thanksgiving Night.

Overall on Thanksgiving Night, NBC was up 43 percent in adults 18-49 (4.0 vs. 2.8) and up 71 percent in total viewers (12.1 million vs. 7.0 million) versus Thanksgiving Night last year

On Friday, Nov. 24 from 8-11 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of the 2000 feature film "The Family Man" averaged a 2.1/7 in 18-49 and 7.0 million viewers overall. From its first half-hour to its last, "The Family Man" increased by 50 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.4/7 from a 1.6/5) and by 28 percent in overall viewership (to 7.8 million from 6.1 million).

On Saturday, Nov. 25 from 8-10 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" averaged a 1.4/4 in 18-49 and 5.6 million viewers overall. At 10 p.m., an encore "Law & Order: SVU" averaged a 2.0/6 in 18-49 and 7.3 million viewers overall.

On Sunday, Nov. 19, the "NBC Sunday Night Football" telecast of the Philadelphia Eagles versus the Indianapolis Colts averaged a 5.9/14 in adults 18-49, 15.2 million viewers overall and a 9.7/15 household rating and share from 8:21-11 p.m. ET.

Eagles-Colts football is up 90 percent versus the 3.1/8 NBC averaged from 8:30-11 p.m. on the same night last year. Versus the comparable night on NBC in 2005, NBC's Sunday primetime this week was up 79 percent in 18-49 (5.2/13 vs. 2.9/7) and up 44 percent in total viewers (13.388 million vs. 9.282 million).

Also on Sunday, "Football Night in America 2" from 7:30-8 p.m. ET averaged a 2.0/6 in 18-49, 5.5 million viewers overall and a 3.7/6 in households. "Football Night in America 3" from 8-8:12 p.m. delivered a 3.6/9 in 18-49, 9.9 million viewers overall and a 6.4/10 in households. From 8:12-8:21 p.m., "NBC Sunday Night Football Pre Kickoff" averaged a 4.4/11 in 18-49, 12.0 million viewers overall and a 7.7/12 in households.
