"One Tree Hill" Tops "The OC" In All Female Demos
"Top Model" and "One Tree Hill" Post Year to Year Gains
The CW's Wednesday Improves Over Both UPN and WB in Key Demos
November 9, 2006 (Burbank, CA) - "America's Next Top Model" ranked second in the 8-9:00PM hour among adults 18-34 (3.2/10), women 18-34 (4.7/13) and women 18-49 (3.7/9), behind only ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" results show, according to preliminary live plus same day Nielsen ratings for Wednesday, Nov. 8.
"One Tree Hill" beat an original "The OC" in their first head-to-head match-up in women 18-34 (3.0/7) and women 18-49 (2.0/5). "One Tree Hill" was second in the hour among teens (2.9/9), behind only "Lost." "One Tree Hill" also held 88% of its "Top Model" teen audience.
Both "Top Model" and "One Tree Hill" were up over their performances a year ago (11/9/05). "Top Model" was up 7% in adults 18-34, while "One Tree Hill" improved 17% in adults 18-34 (2.1/6), 7% in women 18-34 and 7% in adults 18-49 (1.5/4).
The CW's Wednesday line-up recorded significant growth over both The WB and UPN on the same night a year ago (11/9/05). Compared to The WB, The CW was up 93% in adults 18-34 (2.7/7), 81% in women 18-34 (3.8/10), 91% in adults 18-49 (2.1/5), 81% in women 18-49 (2.9/7) and 68% in viewers (4.5mil). Versus UPN's Wednesday, The CW was up 29% in adults 18-34, 15% in women 18-34, 11% in adults 18-49 and 3% in viewers.
