WEEK No. 1:

ABC won the opening week of the 2006-07 television season (w/o 9/18/06) in Adults 18-49 (4.4/12), beating out NBC (4.0/11) by 10% in the key demo. ABC also won the week in Adults 18-34 (3.7/12) and was also the top-rated broadcaster in Teens 12-17 (2.2/9) and Kids 2-11 (1.5/7). ABC ranked No. 1 on 4 of 7 nights (Tues/Thurs/Sat/Sun) during the week in Adults 18-49, representing the most wins for any network during premiere week in 3 years � since NBC led 4 nights in 2003.

� ABC generated its strongest week in 8 months among in Total Viewers (12.3 million) and Adults 18-49 (4.4/12) � since w/o 2/27/06.

� Although the Net did not have the benefit of �Monday Night Football� or �Lost� (it premieres 10/4/06) in the averages this year and 14% of its schedule was in repeat, ABC actually increased its overall audience from the same week last year (12.3 million vs. 12.2 million). The network was also up across each of the women demographics (W18-34 +14%, W18-49 +9% & W25-54 +8%) and among Teens 12-17 (+5%) and Kids 2-11 (+15%).

� Excluding sports from the averages to adjust for the loss of �MNF,� ABC was up a solid 11% in Total Viewers (12.9 million vs. 11.6 million) and 7% in Adults 18-49 (4.7/13 vs. 4.4/12) over the same week a year-ago.

� Moving Grey's is already paying dividends for ABC. During Week 1 of the season, ABC was up on average with Thursday and Sunday combined (9:00-11:00 p.m.) by 21% in Total Viewers (19.4 million vs. 16.0 million) and by 27% in Adults 18-49 (8.0/19 vs. 6.3/15) over its performance during the first week last season.

Rankings: ABC aired 7 of the Top 15 TV programs of the week in Adults 18-49, including the Top 2 programs with �Grey�s Anatomy� and �Desperate Housewives�: �Grey�s Anatomy� � No. 1, �Desperate Housewives� � No. 2, �Extreme Makeover: Home Edition� � No. 6, �Brothers & Sisters� � N0. 8, �Six Degrees� � No. 11, �Dancing with the Stars� � No. 12 and �Grey�s Anatomy-SP9/21� � No. 14. The Network claimed 3 of the Top 4 most-watched TV shows of the week: �Grey�s Anatomy� � No. 1, �Desperate Housewives� � No. 2 and �Dancing With the Stars� � No. 4. ABC�s �Brothers and Sisters� and �Six Degrees� ranks as the Top 2 new series of the season in Adults 18-49. �Brothers & Sisters� is also the most-watched new program of the season. ABC aired the Top 2 most-watched unscripted series of the week with �Dancing with the Stars� and �Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,� as both programs outdrew CBS� �Survivor.�

Monday

On the first night of the 2006-07 TV season, ABC took second on Monday among Women 18-34 (4.3/11), on the heels of NBC (4.7/12).

�Wife Swap� (8:00-9:00 p.m.)

The third season premiere of �Wife Swap� posted increases over its Season-Two debut (9/12/05) by 4% in Total Viewers (7.0 million vs. 6.7 million) and by 12% among Adults 18-49 (2.9/8 vs. 2.6/8).

�Wife Swap� (9:00-10:01 p.m.)

Opposite the comedy debuts on CBS (�Two and a Half Men�/�The New Adventure of Old Christine�) and the second hour of NBC�s �Deal No Deal,� a special second episode of �Wife Swap� built on its lead-in by 1.3 million viewers (8.0 million vs. 6.7 million) and by 41% among Adults 18-49 (3.8/9 vs. 2.7/9). �Wife Swap� took second in the 9 o�clock hour among Women 18-34 (5.2/13), while ranking No. 1 among Teens 12-17 (2.9/9).

� ABC�s �Wife Swap� at 9:00 p.m. ranked as the No. 1 program of the night among Women 18-34 (5.2/13).

� Head to head, ABC�s �Wife Swap� beat Fox�s �Vanished� by 7% in Total Viewers (8.0 million vs. 7.5 million) and by 7% among Adults 18-49 (2.9/7 vs. 2.7/6).

Tuesday

With another big turnout for �Dancing with the Stars� and a strong start for �Boston Legal,� ABC delivered the No. 1 position on the opening Tuesday of the 2006-07 TV Season in Total Viewers (16.0 million) and Adults 18-49 (4.6/12 - tie).

� Compared to the same night last year, ABC's delivery was up by 6.9 million viewers and by 70% in Adults 18-49 (9.1 million viewers & 2.7/7 in AD18-49). In fact ABC delivered its strongest season-opening Tuesday in 6 years among Total Viewers and in 3 years among Adults 18-49 - since 2000 and 2003, respectively.

�Dancing with the Stars� (8:00-10:02 p.m.)

Tuesday's most-watched TV show for the second week in a row, ABC's �Dancing with the Stars� also dominated its time period for the second straight week, even though it faced stiff season premiere competition on the other nets. �Dancing with the Stars� beat its closest competitors in its 2-hour time slot by 5.6 million viewers (18.2 million vs. 12.6 million - CBS) and by 13% in Adults 18-49 (5.2/14 vs. 4.6/12 - Fox). Opposite season premiere competition in the 2-hour time period on NBC (�Deal No Deal�/�Law & Order: CI�) and CBS (�NCIS�/�The Unit�) along with Fox's originals of �House� and �Standoff,� �DWTS� saw its audience grow in each half hour � surging by 5.5 million viewers and by 46% in Adults 18-49 from start to finish.

� �Dancing with the Stars� was up over the second episode of the program last season by 4% in viewers and by 13% in Adults 18-49 (17.4 million & 4.6/12 on 1/12/06).

�Boston Legal� (10:02-11:00 p.m.)

During the 10 o'clock hour, the season premiere of ABC's �Boston Legal� outdrew the series debut of CBS' �Smith� in viewers (11.3 million vs. 11.0 million). �Boston Legal� also took second place in the hour to NBC's season opener of �Law & Order: SVU� in Adults 18-34 (2.4/7), ahead of CBS.

� �Boston Legal� marked its strongest performance since early March among viewers (11.3 million viewers) and Adults 18-49 (3.4/9) � best since 3/7/06.

� The ABC legal drama was up over its year-ago season premiere by 14% in Adults 18-34 (2.4/7 vs. 2.1/6).

Wednesday

Although 2/3 of ABC's schedule was in repeat up against season premiere programming on CBS and NBC in each hour from 8:00-11:00 p.m., the Network took second place on Wednesday night in Total Viewers (12.1 million) and Adults 18-49 (3.8/11). In fact, with its mainly repeat lineup, ABC (3.7/10) beat third-place NBC by 28% (3.0/8) in Adults 18-49 and fourth-place CW (2-hour season premiere of �Top Model�) by 46% (2.6/7). Certainly worth noting, Fox finished in fifth place on the night (2.2/6) with originals of �Bones� and �Justice.� ABC ranked as the No. 1 network on Wednesday among Women 18-49 (5.4/14) and Women 25-54 (6.5/15).

Editors Please Note: ABC will premiere its complete Wednesday night schedule on 10/4/06, featuring �Dancing with the Stars the Results Show,� into the third season premiere of �Lost,� followed by the series debut of �The Nine.�

�Dancing with the Stars the Results Show� (8:00-9:01 p.m.)

ABC's �Dancing with the Stars the Results Show� ranked No. 1 in the 8 o'clock hour, beating CBS' series debut of �Jericho� by 3.3 million viewers (15.0 million vs. 11.7 million) and by 9% in Adults 18-49 (3.7/11 vs. 3.4/10). Beauty queen/actress Shanna Moakler was the second dancer to be eliminated from the contest.

� Versus the comparable episode last season (on 1/13/06), �Dancing with the Stars the Results Show� was up by 1.3 million viewers and by 12% in Adults 18-49.

� Despite increased competition from CBS, NBC and CW season premieres in the hour this week, �DWTS the Results Show� retained a strong 92% of its week earlier premiere Total Viewers and 90% of its Adult 18-49 audience.

�Grey�s Anatomy� (9:01-11:00 p.m.)

A strategic repeat airing of the 2-hour season finale of Grey's Anatomy, as it leads up to the launch of the show in its new Thursday 9 o'clock time period (tonight - see note below), posted a strong second-place finish in Total Viewers (10.5 million) and Adults 18-49 (3.8/10). Opposite stiff time period competition that included CBS' season openers of �Criminal Minds� and �CSI: NY� and NBC's premiere/debut of �Biggest Loser� and �Kidnapped,� ABC's repeat �Grey's Anatomy� ranked No. 1 with Women 18-49 (5.5/14).

� Continuing to deliver added exposure to the show through smart repeat scheduling, �Grey's Anatomy� posted its third-strongest-ever repeat numbers in both Total Viewers and Adults 18-49. It trails only a 3/26/06 repeat with an original �Desperate Housewives� lead-in and a 4/9/06 repeat with a 2-hour �Extreme Makeover: Home Edition� lead-in, respectively.

� From 10:00-11:00 p.m., the replay �Grey's� outperformed NBC's debut telecast of �Kidnapped� by 3.0 million viewers (10.6 million vs. 7.6 million) and by 46% in Adults 18-49 (4.1/11 vs. 2.8/8).

Thursday

ABC won the first Thursday of the 2006-07 TV Season by 18% in Adults 18-49 over second-place CBS (7.2/19 vs. 6.1/16). It was the Net's first victory in the key young adult sales demographic on a season opening Thursday since at least September 1991 � the start of Nielsen�s electronic database.

� ABC was up by 9.2 million viewers (17.4 million vs. 8.2 million) and by 227% in Adults 18-49 (7.2/19 vs. 2.2/6) from the same night a year ago (9/22/05). In fact ABC delivered its strongest opening Thursday numbers in at least 15 years - since at least 1991.

� In Total Viewers and Adults 18-49, ABC marked its best performance on any Thursday night with entertainment programming since May 4, 2000.

�Grey�s Anatomy: Complications of the Heart� (8:00-9:00 p.m.)

Carrying momentum over from the strong numbers put up by the �Grey's� season finale repeat the previous evening (Wednesday, 9/20/06 from 9:00-11:00 p.m.), the �Grey's Anatomy: Complications of the Heart� clip show put ABC into a solid second-place during the opening hour on Thursday in Total Viewers (13.7 million) and Adults 18-49 (5.0/14). The �Grey�s� clip show ranked No. 1 in the hour among Women 18-34, beating CBS� �Survivor� by 22% (6.6/19 vs. 5.4/15).

� Warming up the time period for ABC, as the Network prepares for the debut of �Ugly Betty� in the hour in a week (on 9/28/06), the special generated ABC's best viewer and young adult numbers in that hour in 6 months � since 3/16/06.

�Grey�s Anatomy� (9:00-10:02 p.m.)

Thursday�s No. 1 TV program, ABC's season premiere of �Grey's Anatomy� dominated its new time period, beating CBS' �C.S.I.� by 2.8 million viewers (25.4 million vs. 22.6 million) and by 43% in Adults 18-49 (11.0/26 vs. 7.7/18). �Grey's� advantage over �C.S.I.� in Adults 18-34 stood at an enormous 88% (10.7/28 vs. 5.7/15). �Grey's Anatomy� became the first non-finale of any series to beat an original �C.S.I.� in 2-1/2 years among Adults 18-49 - since 4/1/04. Furthermore, it�s the first scripted non-finale series ever to draw a larger audience than �C.S.I.� in original Thursday head-to-head competition.

� In its third premiere, �Grey's Anatomy� offered ABC its best numbers in the time period with series programming since May 2000 - since 5/25/00 in Total Viewers and 5/4/00 in Adults 18-49.

� Versus its season premiere last year which came out of �Desperate Housewives,� �Grey's� was up by 6.4 million viewers and 33% in Adults 18-49 (19.0 million & 8.3/20 on 9/25/05). It was the third-highest-rated telecast ever for the series, behind only Parts 1 & 2 of its post-Super Bowl episode.

�Six Degrees� (10:02-11:00 p.m.)

Up against CBS' well promoted series debut of �Shark� and NBC's season opener for time period veteran �ER,� the series debut of �Six Degrees� delivered ABC's best non-sports performance in the hour in over 3 years in both Total Viewers (12.6 million) and Adults 18-49 (5.4/15) � since 4/17/03 & 2/6/03, respectively. ABC's debut telecast of �Six Degrees� beat CBS' debut of �Shark� by a strong 32% in Adults 18-49 (5.4/15 vs. 4.1/11).

� Versus the same night last year, ABC's numbers catapulted in the hour by 5.0 million viewers and by 108% in Adults 18-49 (7.6 million viewers and 2.6/7 in AD18-49).

� �Six Degrees� represents ABC's strongest Thursday night scripted series debut in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49 since 1994 � since 9/15/94 & 3/3/94, respectively.

� The retention of �Six Degrees� coming out of �Grey's� in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49 (50% in Total Viewers/49% in Adults 18-49) was nearly identical to the retention that CBS saw in the same time period with the series debut of �Without a Trace� (53% in Total Viewers/50% in Adults 18-49 on 9/26/02). �Without a Trace� went on to become a key program for CBS, now entering it fifth season and currently being used by CBS to build up Sunday night.

Friday

�Men in Trees� (9:00-10:00 p.m.)

Opposite stiff competition in the time period from CBS� season premiere of �Close to Home� and a �Deal No Deal�-fueled edition of NBC�s �Dateline,� ABC�s �Men in Trees� built sharply on its lead-in (a repeat �Grey�s Anatomy�), growing by 2.3 million viewers (8.3 million vs. 6.1 million) and by 20% in Adults 18-49 (2.4/8 vs. 2.0/7). The new ABC drama was very competitive in the hour across the key women demographics, on par with the opener of �Close to Home� in Women 18-34 (2.5/9 vs. 2.6/9), and tied �Dateline� in Women 18-49 (3.7/11), while moving ahead of �Dateline� in Women 25-54 (4.4/11 vs. 4.2/11). It was ABC�s top program on the evening.

� �Men in Trees� was up over its week-ago premiere in the hour in both Total Viewers (8.3 million vs. 8.1 million) and Adults 18-49 (2.4/8 vs. 2.2/7). In fact the show was up nicely week to week across each of the key young adult and women demographics: AD18-34 +23% (1.6/6 vs. 1.3/5), AD18-49 +9% (2.4/8 vs. 2.2/7), W18-34 +39% (2.5/9 vs. 1.8/7), W18-49 +23% (3.7/11 vs. 3.0/9) and W25-54 +16% (4.4/11 vs. 3.8/11).

� In Women 18-34 and Women 18-49, �Men in Trees� generated ABC�s best ratings with regular programming in the time period in 7 months � 2/24/06.

� On average in its first two airings, �Men in Trees� has improved the Friday 9 o�clock hour for ABC by 74% in Total Viewers (8.3 mil vs. 4.8 mil) and by 28% in Adults 18-49 (2.3/8 vs. 1.8/6), over the same nights last year.

Saturday

�Saturday Night Football: Ohio State at Texas� (8:00-11:00 p.m.)

With �Saturday Night Football,� featuring two match-ups between the Notre Dame Fight Irish & Michigan Wolverines and the USC Trojans & the Arizona Wildcats, ABC won the night in primetime in Total Viewers (8.1 million) and across each of the key adult demographics [Adults 18-34 (2.4/9), Adults 18-49 (2.7/9) and Adults 25-54 (3.1/9)] for the third time in four weeks.

Sunday

ABC delivered a dominant first-place finish on the opening Sunday of the season, defeating second-place CBS by 2.7 million viewers (16.8 million vs. 14.1 million) and by an estimated 21% in Adults 18-49 over NBC�s performance coverage of �Sunday Night Football� during prime (6.4/16 vs. 4.9/13).

� ABC�s third season premiere of �Desperate Housewives� ranked as the No. 1 TV program on Sunday night in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49. In fact ABC aired the Top 3 entertainment TV shows on Sunday in the key Adult 18-49 sales demographic, with �Desperate Housewives,� �Extreme Makeover: Home Edition� and �Brothers & Sisters.�

�Extreme Makeover: Home Edition � 9/24� (7:00-8:00 p.m.)

A special 7 o�clock installment of �Extreme Makeover: Home Edition� placed a solid second to Fox�s football overrun in the hour among Adults 18-49 (3.5/10).

�Extreme Makeover: Home Edition� (8:00-9:00 p.m.)

In its regular time period premiere, �Extreme Makeover: Home Edition� won its hour in Total Viewers (17.5 million) and Adults 18-49 (6.4/16).

� �Home Edition� generated the series� largest audience in more than 8 months and its top Adult 18-49 rating in over 6 months � since 1/8/06 and 3/19/06, respectively.

�Desperate Housewives� (9:00-10:01 p.m.)

The third season premiere of ABC�s �Desperate Housewives� overshadowed its competition in the 9 o�clock hour with an average audience of 24.1 million viewers and a 9.6 rating, 21 share in Adults 18-49, beating CBS� �Cold Case� and NBC�s �Sunday Night Football� by wide margins.

� �Desperate Housewives� started out its third season well ahead of where it left off last season. �Desperate Housewives� was up over its 2006 May Sweep performance in the hour by 2.3 million viewers and by 9% in Adults 18-49 (2006 May Sweep = 21.8 million viewers and 8.8/20 in Adults 18-49).

�Brothers & Sisters� (10:01-11:00 p.m.)

ABC�s series debut of �Brothers & Sisters� ranked No. 1 in the 10 o�clock hour in Adults 18-49, beating CBS� season premiere of veteran drama �Without a Trace� by 25% in Adults 18-49 (6.0/15 vs. 4.8/12). With its strong debut numbers, �Bothers & Sisters� emerged as the No. 1 new series of the season in Adults 18-49.

� In its debut telecast, the lead-in retention for �Brothers & Sisters� (66% in Viewers/63% in Adults 18-49) coming out of �Desperate Housewives� was very much in line with that of �Grey�s Anatomy� in its debut telecast out of �Housewives� (67% in Viewers/67% in Adults 18-49 on 3/27/05).
