The premiere of SURVIVOR: COOK ISLANDS, the reality series' 13th edition, delivered the largest audience and highest ratings in key demographics for a "Survivor" episode since last February, according to live plus same day preliminary Nielsen ratings for Thursday, Sept. 14.
SURVIVOR: COOK ISLANDS SPECIAL (S) posted a 10.1/17 with 17.71m viewers, 7.7/21 in adults 25-54, 6.3/20 in adults 18-49 and 4.3/15 in adults 18-34 -- all easily winning the 8:00 PM time slot. This is the best delivery for a SURVIVOR episode in viewers, adults 18-34 and adults 25-54 since Feb. 9 and best in adults 18-49 since Feb. 16.
SURVIVOR increased its delivery in the second half-hour: +6% in households (10.4/17 from 9.8/17), +13% in adults 25-54 (8.1/21 from 7.2/21), +14% in adults 18-49 (6.7/20 from 5.9/19), +18% in adults 18-34 (4.7/16 from 4.0/15) and added +1.55m viewers (18.49m from 16.94m, +9%).
Meanwhile, in late night, LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN, featuring guests Anne Heche, 26-year-old Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl and musical guest The Who, delivered a 4.0/10 in the 55 Nielsen metered markets, its highest rated broadcast of the summer.
Last night's broadcast of LATE SHOW topped "The Tonight Show" by +3% (4.0/10 vs. 3.9/10).
LATE LATE SHOW with CRAIG FERGUSON, with guests Gary Sinise, Whitley Strieber and Chris Isaak, delivered a 1.8/7 in the 55 Nielsen metered markets, matching its best rating of the summer. LATE LATE SHOW tied "Late Night with Conan O'Brien."

SURVIVOR: COOK ISLANDS SPECIAL (S) posted a 10.1/17 with 18.00m viewers, 7.8/21 in adults 25-54, 6.5/20 in adults 18-49 and 4.5/16 in adults 18-34 -- all easily winning the 8:00 PM time slot. Last night�s ratings were on par with the premiere of �Survivor: Guatemala� on Sept. 15, 2005, retaining 98% of its viewer and adult 18-49 deliveries, 97% of its adult 25-54 rating and 96% of the adults 18-34 rating. This is the best delivery for a SURVIVOR episode in viewers, adults 18-34, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 since Feb. 9.
SURVIVOR increased its delivery in the second half-hour: +7% in households (10.5/17 from 9.8/17), +12% in adults 25-54 (8.3/21 from 7.4/21), +13% in adults 18-49 (6.9/20 from 6.1/20), +17% in adults 18-34 (4.8/16 from 4.1/15) and added +1.55m viewers (18.78m from 17.23m, +9%).
