With the Addition of Dancing with the Stars on the Evening, ABCs Thursday Results Improve by 8.2 Million Viewers and by 117% in Adults 18-49

Producing Season High Numbers, ABCs Dancing with The Stars Wins its Time Period Among Total Viewers Women, Teens 12-17 and Kids 2-11, While Beating NBCs Comedies by 30% in the Key Adult 18-49 Sales Demographic

ABCs Crumbs Outdraws NBCs The Office at 9:30pm for the Second Week in a Row and, Despite Facing an Original C.S.I. This Week, Retains Nearly All of its Week-Ago Series Debut in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49 and is Up Among Adults 18-34

On Average, Crumbs Qualifies as ABCs Most-Watched Thursday Scripted Series in 11 Seasons and its Top-Rated in Adults 18-49 in 6 Seasons

Thursday Night (8:00-11:00 p.m.)

ABC took second place on Thursday night in Total Viewers (13.6 million) and Adults 18-49 (3.9/10), beating NBC on both Nielsen measures (NBC = 8.2 million & 3.8/10).

Since Dancing with the Stars debuted on Thursday night, ABCs delivery has improved by 8.2 million viewers (13.6 million vs. 5.4 million) and by 117% in Adults 18-49 (3.9/10 vs. 1.8/5) over its performance on the same nights last year.

Dancing with the Stars (8:00-9:30 p.m.)

Hitting season highs in its new time period, ABCs Dancing with the Stars continued to deliver for ABC on Thursday night. The broad appealing unscripted program ranked No. 1 during its 90-minute time period among Total Viewers (18.8 million), across the key women demos (W18-34 5.4/15, W18-49 7.2/18 and W25-54 8.8/20), as well as among Teens 12-17 (2.8/8) and Kids (2.7/10). The ABC unscripted series posted a strong second-place finish in the time period among Adults 18-49, beating NBCs comedies (Will & Grace/Four Kings/My Name is Earl) in all three half-hours and by 30% on average (5.2/13 vs. 4.0/10). Of note competitively, CBS aired an original episode of C.S.I. at 9:00 p.m. In Total Viewers and Adults 18-49, DWTS posted ABCs strongest Thursday night series telecast since March 22, 2001.

Marking its best Thursday numbers yet, Dancing with the Stars was up nicely from the prior week, gaining 1.4 million viewers (18.8 million vs. 17.4 million) and 13% among Adults 18-49 (5.2/13 vs. 4.6/12). In fact it was the series second-largest audience ever (behind only the first season finale) and its third-highest ever Adult 18-49 number (behind only the penultimate and season finale episodes, during the summer).

So far in its three broadcasts, Dancing with the Stars has improved the time period for ABC by 11.3 million viewers (17.8 million vs. 6.5 million) and by 118% in Adults 18-49 (4.8/12 vs. 2.2/6) from the Nets season average with regular programming this season prior to its debut. On average, Dancing with the Stars represents ABCs strongest Thursday night series in viewers and young adults in the last 6 seasons since Millionaire during the 1999-00 season.

Crumbs (9:30-10:00 p.m.)

For the second week in a row, ABCs Crumbs outdrew NBCs The Office (+2.8 million - 11.5 million vs. 8.7 million). Continuing to improve the time period, Crumbs has boosted the half-hour for ABC by 6.1 million viewers (11.6 million vs. 5.5 million) and by 84% in Adults 18-49 (3.5/9 vs. 1.9/5) over its average with regular programming in the time period this season.

Although it faced an original C.S.I. in the time period on its second telecast, Crumbs retained 97% of its week-ago season premiere Total Viewer audience (11.5 million vs. 11.8 million) and 94% of its Adult 18-49 audience (3.4/8 vs. 3.6/9). Crumbs was up from its series debut among Adults 18-34 (2.1/6 vs. 1.8/5), Women 18-34 (3.0/7 vs. 2.6/6) and Men 18-34 (1.3/4 vs. 1.0/3).

On average, Crumbs qualifies as ABCs most-watched Thursday scripted series in 11 seasons and its top-rated among Adults 18-49 in 6 seasons since the 1994-95 and 1999-00 season, respectively.
