Lifetime Television's 'Human Trafficking,' Starring Mira Sorvino and Donald Sutherland, Becomes Highest-Rated Original Movie of 2005 on Ad-Supported Basic Cable, Averaging 5.5 Million Viewers While Posting a 4.6 Household Rating

- Part II Increases 13% in Total Viewers Over Part I -

NEW YORK, Oct. 26 -- Lifetime Television's "Human Trafficking" becomes the highest-rated original movie on ad-supported basic cable in 2005, averaging 5.5 million viewers with a 4.6 household rating, following Tuesday night's premiere of Part II.

Part II averaged 5.8 million viewers along with a 4.7 household rating, building upon the 5.1 million viewers/4.5 household rating garnered by Part I on October 24. Much of this growth was driven by Women 18-34 and Women 18-49 ratings, which were both up 15% from Part I.

The most watched program of the day on ad-supported cable among total viewers, Part II also ranked #1 in its 9-11PM (ET/PT) time period versus ad-supported cable networks among Households, W18-34, W18-49 and W25-54.

This gives Lifetime the top 11 original movies of the year in ad-supported cable based on HH rating. The previously highest rated movies were the Lifetime Original Movies "Murder in the Hamptons" and "Odd Girl Out," which both posted a 4.4 household rating. This year to date, eleven Lifetime Original Movies have averaged at least a 3.0 HH rating, an accomplishment no other ad-supported cable network has done in one year since USA in 1998.

A tough, uncompromising drama about the brutal realities behind the international trafficking of women and children for sex, "Human Trafficking" starred Academy Award(R) and Golden Globe(R)Award-winning actress Mira Sorvino, Golden Globe(R) and Emmy(R) Award-winning actor Donald Sutherland, and BAFTA Award(R)-winning actor Robert Carlyle.

"Human Trafficking" was produced by For Sale Productions, Inc. ("Muse") for Lifetime Television. Executive Producer was Robert Halmi, Sr. ("The Lion in Winter," "Mitch Albom's The Five People You Meet in Heaven"). Christian Duguay (Lifetime's "Lies My Mother Told Me," "Joan of Arc," "Hitler") directed from a teleplay by Carol Doyle ("Veronica Guerin," "Washington Square") and Agatha Dominik ("The Sum of All Men," "I Know This Much is True"). Story by Carol Doyle.
