�SMALLVILLE� AND �GILMORE GIRLS� RANK IN THE TOP 20 AMONG ALL SERIES FOR THE WEEK IN KEY 18-34 AND 12-34 DEMOGRAPHICS
�RELATED,� �7TH HEAVEN� AND �CHARMED� ALL HAVE SUCCESS STORIES FOR THE WEEK
The WB network, led by its powerhouse Tuesday and Thursday lineups achieved either gains or parity compared to the parallel week last season in all 18-34 and 18-49 demos as well as in persons 12-34 and men 12-34.
The network's Thursday dynamic duo of SMALLVILLE and EVERWOOD set several network and time period all-time records, establishing the night as television's best scheduling move of the season. SMALLVILLE went on to rank #19 on television for the week among persons 12-34 (3.1/10), #15 in men 18-34 (3.5/12) and #11 in men 12-34 (3.6/12).
The Tuesday tandem of GILMORE GIRLS and first-year hit SUPERNATURAL set all-new season highs as GILMORE GIRLS was #15 in women 18-34 (4.7/13) and #11 in women 12-34 (4.5/13) for the week on television.
Also standing out for The WB for the last week, were Monday's RELATED and 7TH HEAVEN. RELATED built some traction in its second week on Monday, achieving growth from its first post-7TH HEAVEN airing and setting the time period's season best. Next week, RELATED will air its first original episode on a Monday. 7TH HEAVEN won its time period, placing #1 among women 12-34 (3.3/10) and ranking #2 in women 18-34 (3.2/9) and persons 12-34 (2.2/7). Additionally CHARMED finished #2 in its time period in women 12-34 (1.9/5) for the second consecutive week and equaled its best performance of the season in that demo. CHARMED improved compared to the parallel week the previous season in several key demos and total viewers (4.3 million, +26%).
For the week, The WB achieved year-to-year gains compared to the previous week among men 18-34 (1.2/4), men 12-34 (1.2/4), women 18-49 (2.1/5), men 18-49 (1.2/3) and total viewers (3.7 million) and was on par with the previous season for the week among adults 18-34 (1.7/5), adults 18-49 (1.6/4), and women 18-34 (2.2/6) and was one-tenth of a rating point off of last year's pace in women 12-34 (2.3/7).
THE WB THURSDAY AGAIN PROVES TO BE TELEVISION'S BEST SCHEDULING MOVE OF THE SEASON
The WB Thursday continues to establish itself as the best scheduling move made by any network this season. The aggressive move of the two signature series, SMALLVILLE and EVERWOOD, to build a beachhead on one of television's toughest nights again paid major dividends and achieved THE WB'S BEST-EVER RATINGS IN MEN 12-34 (2.4/8) AND EQUALED THE NETWORK HIGH IN MEN 18-49 (2.2/6).
SMALLVILLE has consistently been one of the winners on the night this season, achieving a #1 rank in men 18-34 (3.5/12) for the fourth time in as many weeks this season. The super series also placed #1 in men 12-34 (3.6/12) and #2 among adults 18-34 (3.1/10), persons 12-34 (3.1/10) and men 18-49 (3.3/10).
SMALLVILLE set new WB Thursday records in males 12-34 (3.6/12) and men 18-49 (3.3/10) and equaled the all-time high in men 18-34 (3.5/12). SMALLVILLE also set new Thursday time period records in persons 12-34 (3.1/10), adults 18-49 (2.9/8) and total viewers (6.4 million), while delivering the time period record in adults 18-34 (3.1/10). The show built sharply week-to-week across all demos, and continues to more than double the time period deliveries of a year ago in adults 18-34, adults 18-49 and persons 12-34.
EVERWOOD scored season high deliveries in women 12-34 (2.0/6), female teens (2.3/8), teens 12-17 (2.0/7) and male teens (1.7/6), and equaled its season highs in persons 12-34 (1.6/5) and women 18-34 (2.0/5). The show ranked #3 in its time period across all 12-34 and 18-34 demos, as well as women 18-49. EVERWOOD has also improved the time period tremendously, growing over the parallel night a year ago by +114% in adults 18-34 and +150% in adults 18-49.
The WB Thursday achieved triple-digit growth across nearly every key demo, including +156% in adults 18-34, +118% in persons 12-34 and +120% in adults 18-49. The network ranked #2 on the night in men 12-34 (2.4/8) and was #3 on the night in adults 18-34 (2.3/7), women 18-34 (2.3/6), men 18-34 (2.2/7), persons 12-34 (2.4/7), females 12-34 (2.4/7), adults 18-49 (2.2/6) and men 18-49 (2.2/6).
THE WB TUESDAY REACHES NEW HEIGHTS
Another week meant another success story for The WB Tuesday. Signature series GILMORE GIRLS and freshman phenom SUPERNATURAL both reached their highest ratings levels of the season in adults and women 18-34 and scored year-to-year gains for their respective time periods.
The formidable combination achieved growth over the parallel Tuesday last season in adults 18-34 (2.9/9), adults 18-49 (2.5/7), women 18-49 (3.4/8), men 18-34 (1.8/6), men 12-34 (1.7/6), men 18-49 (1.6/5) and total viewers (5.5 million). The two series combined to achieve gains over the previous week in all 18-34 demos.
GILMORE GIRLS led off the night scorings its highest ratings yet this season among adults 18-34 (3.2/10), women 18-34 (4.7/13), adults 18-49 (2.8/8) and women 18-49 (4.1/11). For GILMORE GIRLS it was its second-highest ratings season-to-date in persons 12-34 (2.9/10) and in men 18-34 (1.6/6) and men 18-49 (1.5/5).
SUPERNATURAL also chalked up its highest ratings of the season in adults 18-34 (2.6/7) and women 18-34 (3.1/8) and second-highest number yet in persons 12-34 (2.5/7), men 18-34 (2.1/7) and men 12-34 (2.0/6).
GILMORE GIRLS also excelled vs. network competition placing #1 in its time period among persons 12-34 (2.9/10), women 18-34 (4.7/13) and women 12-34 (4.5/13) and #2 among adults 18-34 (3.2/10) as well as #1 for the night among teens (2.4/8) and female teens (3.9/13). GILMORE GIRLS paced ahead of the parallel week last season in all 18-34 and 18-49 demos, including +10% in adults 18-34 and +12% in adults 18-49. The show also scored a year-to-year gain of +8% in total viewers (6.1 million). Compared to the previous week, GILMORE GIRLS improved across the 18-34 and 18-49 demos, including +19% in adults 18-34.
SUPERNATURAL improved its time period over the parallel week last season in adults 18-34, adults 18-49, all male demos, including +62% in men 18-34, and +11% in total viewers (5 million). SUPERNATURAL was #2 in its time period among men 12-34, #3 in men 18-34 and #1 among teens (2.2/7) and female teens (2.5/9).
For the night, The WB was #2 in adults 18-34 (2.9/9), persons 12-34 (2.7/8), women 18-34 (3.9/10) and women 12-34 (3.7/10), #3 in men 18-34 (1.8/6) and men 12-34 (1.7/6) and #1 in teens (2.3/8) and female teens (3.2/11).
