Hallmark Channel greeted with stunning news� its ratings for 1Q�05 are the
highest in network history!
Hallmark Channel continues its steady ratings success delivering the highest
quarter ratings ever during 1Q�05, with an all-time ratings high in Total Day at a .7 HH
rating (+17% over 1Q�04) and in Prime Time with a 1.0 HH rating (+11% over 1Q�04).
Hallmark Channel improved its standing and now ranks #9 in Total Day HH ratings and
#13 in Prime Time HH ratings among all 59 measured ad-supported cable networks
(Nielsen Media Research, 12/27/04-3/27/05 vs. 12/29/03-3/28/04).
Among key demos in Total Day, the network delivered an all-time high 128,000
Women 25-54, +33% over 1Q�04, and an all-time high 232,000 Adults 25-54, +32% over
1Q�04. In Prime Time, the network delivered 173,000 Women, 25-54, the second-highest
monthly W25-54 delivery in network history (a +22% increase over 1Q�04), and 284,000
Adults 25-54, the 2nd highest monthly A25-54 delivery in network history (a +23%
increase over 1Q�04).
Hallmark Channel still ranks among the Top 5 in year-to-year growth, 1Q�05 vs.
1Q�04, in Total Day. The network ranks #4 overall in year-to-year Total Day growth for
HH impressions (+30%), #4 for W25-54 (+33%), and #3 for A25-54 (+32%) among the
59 measured ad-supported cable networks.
The continued ratings success can be attributed to the strength of the Hallmark
Channel Original Movies, the original Mystery Movie franchises and popular acquisitions
which continue to achieve strong ratings and viewer length of tune-in. Highlights include:
� �Thicker Than Water� (March 12) premiered with a 2.3 HH rating, delivering 3.3
million unduplicated viewers Persons 2+. The movie ranked third in the time
period for HH rating, Women 25-54 (1.4) and Adults 25-54 (1.2). It was the
second-highest rated ad-supported cable movie for the day, and was the fifth
most-watched telecast in network history.
� �Family Plan� (Feb. 12) premiered with a 1.4 HH rating and was viewed by more
than 1.9 million unduplicated viewers Persons 2+. It was also part of Hallmark
Channel�s third-highest day ever, and was ranked among the top 10 in the time
period for HH rating (#10), W25-54 rating (#9 with a .9 rating) and A25-54 rating
(#9 with a .7 rating).
� �Annie�s Point� (Jan. 22) premiered with a 2.0 HH rating, with 1,362,000
households. It was viewed by more than 2.8 million unduplicated viewers,
Persons 2+, and it ranked among the top 10 in the time period for HH rating (#5),
W25-54 rating (#5 with a 1.2 rating), and A25-54 rating (#6 with a .9 rating).
� The Hallmark Channel Mystery Movies continue to build and deliver the network�s
highest Friday ratings ever. First quarter 2005 featured the premiere of each of
the three franchises: �McBride,� starring John Larroquette, �Jane Doe,� starring
Lea Thompson, and �Mystery Woman,� starring Kellie Martin. The three premieres
of these Mystery Movies resulted in the three highest programs ever in the Friday
9-11 p.m. time period. During 1Q�05, the nine premieres of the Friday Mystery
Movies averaged a 1.3 HH rating with 905,000 homes � a +59% increase over the
4Q�05 Fri 9-11p time period average.
In 1Q�05, Hallmark Channel delivered 8 of the Top 10 original movies for Length of
Tune (the number of minutes a viewers stay tuned to a program before switching the
channel) among viewers P2+. Those original movies were the premiere telecasts of
�McBride: The Chameleon Murder,� �Thicker Than Water,� �Mystery Woman: Snapshot,�
�McBride: Murder Past Midnight,� �Jane Doe: Now You See It, Now You Don�t,� �Annie�s
Point,� �Jane Doe: Vanishing Act� and �McBride: It�s Murder, Madam.� Hallmark Channel
viewers stayed tuned to these eight original premieres for an average of over 37 minutes.
