Spike TV Has Highest Rated Quarter Ever
Raises Key Male & Adult Demos Double Digits in Primetime; Averages 1.6 Million Viewers P2+, Up 44% Versus YAGO
New York, NY, March 29, 2005 --- Spike TV has just concluded its highest rated quarter ever in Primetime with double digit growth in both key male and adult demos. The network also experienced its highest rated quarter in Total Day viewership.
According to Nielsen Media Research for 1Q05 in Primetime, Spike TV averaged 1.6 million viewers P2+, up 44% as compared to last year. With Men18-49, the network achieved a .9 rating and delivered 471,000 viewers, up 13% versus YAGO; and with M18-34, garnered a .8 rating and 203,000 viewer delivery, a 14% increase when compared to YAGO. With Adults 18-49, the network registered a .8 rating, representing 823,000 viewers for the quarter, up 33% versus YAGO. Spike TV�s Primetime ratings performance was driven by the original series MOST EXTREME ELIMINATION CHALLENGE (MXC); the network�s SLAMMIN� SATURDAY NIGHT programming block and weeknight telecasts of C.S.I.
Spike TV also experienced significant growth in Total Day. Spike TV averaged .6 HH rating with 750,000 viewers P2+ in 1Q05. The network�s average of a .5 rating and delivery of 243,000 M18-49 and .4/409,000 with P18-49 marked increases of 25% and 33% respectively in Total Day as compared to the same time period last year.
