USA NETWORK MOST-WATCHED AND HIGHEST-RATED IN CABLE FOR THE WEEK
USA is #1 among households, key demos and total viewers
NEW YORK -� August 17, 2004 -� USA Network was the most-watched and highest-rated network on basic cable for the third week of August. The network turned in a 2.1 rating in households, a 1.3 in P25-54 and a 1.1 in P18-49 in prime time this week, with an average of nearly 2.6 million viewers tuning in, making USA the #1 basic cable network among households, key demos (P18-49 and P25-54) and total viewers. Ratings increased over the same week last year by +25% in households, +23% in P25-54, +24% in P18-49 and +27% in total viewers.
USA's original series Monk and The Dead Zone ranked as two of the top three programs on basic cable this week in households. Friday's original Monk episode topped all primetime cable programs in households and in P25-54 for the week.
�Monk was the highest-rated primetime cable program this week on basic cable earning a 3.8 in households, a 2.1 in P18-49, a 2.7 in P25-54 with 4.9 million viewers tuning in. Monk was the top-rated program on Friday on cable among households, P25-54, P18-49 and total viewers. So far this season's average is outperforming last summer's average by +16% in households, +19% in P25-54 and +12% in P18-49.
�The USA Network original series The Dead Zone also had a solid week, earning a 2.8 in households, a 2.3 in P25-54, a 1.8 in P18-49, with an average of 3.6 million viewers tuning in. The Dead Zone was the highest-rated primetime program on Sunday on basic cable among households, P25-54, P18-49 and total viewers. Ratings are outpacing last season's performance by +24% in households, +26% in P25-54 and +24% in P18-49.
