ITV's smart crime drama Professor T set to return for series 5 starring Ben Miller, Frances de la Tour, Juliet Stevenson and Zoe Wanamaker
ITV has today announced the recommission of hit detective drama Professor T starring Ben Miller in the titular role.
Ben Miller (Bridgerton, Death in Paradise) returns to play Cambridge's illustrious Professor Jasper Tempest, whilst Frances de la Tour (Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire, The History Boys), also reprises her role as the Professor's mother Adelaide Tempest and they are joined by Zoe Wanamaker (Shadow and Bone, My Family) as her sister, and the Professor's aunt, Zelda Radclyffe, while Juliet Stevenson (Emma, Truly Madly Deeply) returns as psychologist Dr Helena Goldberg.
Confirming series five of the drama ITV Assistant Drama and Comedy Commissioner, Callum Dziedzic commented: "It's a real pleasure to bring another series of Professor T to audiences. With its gripping crimes, fascinating characters, and captivating cast - led by the brilliant Ben Miller - the show continues to surprise and delight both ardent fans and newcomers alike. Over time, it has truly found its own identity beyond the original, and we can't wait for viewers to see what's coming in the next chapter."
Barney White (Against the Law), Sunetra Sarker (Playing Nice, Casualty), and Rhian Blundell (Vampire Academy, Nobody Girl), who play Detective Dan Winters, DCI Maiya Goswami, and Detective Chloe Highsmith respectively, will also return.
The Eagle Eye Drama production has achieved a loyal following with the audience compelled by the unique balance between riveting crime stories and its irresistible ensemble of characters. Professor T is produced by Eagle Eye Drama, which is part of ITV Studios, for ITV and PBS Distribution.

Fans of the smart crime drama are set for further surprises in series five. With six brand new episodes featuring some unexpected new relationships and more complex crimes for the Professor and police unit to tackle; including a boxing match that takes a bloody turn and a series of inexplicable sudden deaths at an upmarket spa, many favourite characters will face some tough choices, and the stakes for Professor T and his team have never been higher.

Directors for series 5 will be Kaat Beels and Joel Vanhoebrouck. Matt Baker is the producer and returning Executive Producers are Walter Iuzzolino, Jo McGrath and Alison Kee. Beta Film holds worldwide distribution rights on all seasons, while PBS Distribution holds the North American rights. Professor T is produced in association with Happy Duck Films and and the Original Producer Skyline Entertainment NV and is supported by the Belgian Tax Shelter.
Series 4 of Professor T will air later this year on ITV1 and STV and will be available to stream on ITVX and STV Player.
