· In support of NBC's upcoming 10-part nature documentary series "The Americas," premiering Sunday, Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. ET/PT with two back-to-back episodes, the network is joining forces with the National Wildlife Federation (NWF), LG Electronics USA, AllTrails and Parks Project to celebrate and conserve the wildlife and ecosystems inhabiting the world's great supercontinent. The "Come Together for Nature" impact campaign aims to encourage viewers to reconnect with nature wherever they are by spending more time outside and taking steps to make a difference in their communities. The tentpole series narrated by Tom Hanks, executive produced by Mike Gunton ("Life," "Planet Earth II," "Dynasties"), with music by Oscar and Grammy Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer, will air Sunday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and stream next day on Peacock.
· "'The Americas' is more than just a breathtaking TV event, it's an invitation to reconnect with the natural world," said Margaret Walker, Senior Vice President, NBC Brand Strategy & Audience Growth. "Through our partnerships with the National Wildlife Federation, LG, AllTrails and Parks Project, we're bringing this awe-inspiring series to as many people as possible - from families watching at home to students and educators in classrooms. Together, we're turning wonder into action and empowering audiences of all ages to explore, learn and make a difference."
· The National Wildlife Federation (NWF) is the official conservation partner of "The Americas." This is a natural extension of the organization's mission to help wildlife, people and ecosystems thrive in a rapidly changing world. The partnership will leverage NWF's Green Hour(TM) initiative, encouraging individuals and families to spend time outdoors and build a connection with nature. NWF will offer seed grants to schools and youth-serving institutions, empowering students, teachers and parents to bring innovative projects to life, connecting classrooms, clubs and communities with nature through meaningful outdoor experiences. Additionally, NWF will create a comprehensive "watch kit" for each episode, featuring fun animal facts, quizzes, conservation actions for all ages and lesson plans to help educators seamlessly integrate the program into their curriculum. The goal is to bring the wonders of wildlife and wild places into every home and to make environmental education more accessible in every classroom with "The Americas."
· "The National Wildlife Federation is thrilled to be the conservation partner for NBC's groundbreaking series, 'The Americas.' It will reconnect millions of people with the natural world that surrounds and sustains us. When we connect with nature, we get inspired to ensure our wildlife and wild places endure for future generations," said Collin O'Mara, President and CEO of the National Wildlife Federation. "When we save wildlife, we save ourselves."
· NBC also teams up with LG Electronics USA, an official technology partner for the series, as part of LG's commitment to sustainability. In a nod to "The Americas," LG's 2025 Wonderbox Showcase will highlight vulnerable and endangered species. Graphic art students from across the country will be invited to submit their original 3D anamorphic artwork inspired by the series for the chance to be featured on LG's Times Square billboard and receive up to $25,000. This unique competition is designed to kick-start creative careers through Life's Good-driven prompts. LG will also build custom 3D billboards featuring at-risk animals from "The Americas" as part of its LG Endangered Species series with support from NWF, including the Monarch Butterfly, which will debut on the billboard in February.
· AllTrails and NBC are bringing inspiration to their communities with a curated collection of 100 hiking trails that highlight outdoor adventures in each region featured in "The Americas." From the Atlantic Coast to the tip of Patagonia, the trails are available as a special experience on alltrails.com/partners/nbc-the-americas. AllTrails supports land stewardship through its global Public Lands Program and donates a portion of its annual revenue to environmental causes through membership in 1% for the Planet.
· Rounding out the campaign, NBC and Parks Project will host a screening event and sweepstakes to give a family of four the chance to recharge in nature with outdoor experiences and Parks Project merchandise, reinforcing the organization's goal to protect and preserve parklands for generations to come.
