500, THE (Amazon, New!) - Andrew Sodroski is looking to bring Matthew Quirk's novel to the small screen at Amazon MGM Studios in which "a former con artist is plucked from his Harvard Law School classroom to become an associate at Washington's most high-powered consulting firm. Quickly pulled into a seductive, dangerous web of power and corruption, he struggles to find his way out." David Weil and Natalie Williams will also executive produce. (Deadline.com, 6/13)
ANNE RICE'S INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE (AMC) - Executive producer Rolin Jones has signed a new multi-year overall with AMC Studios, likely heralding a third season of the series. (Deadline.com, 6/14)
BAD MONKEY/SHRINKING (Apple TV+) - Ashley Nicole Black is bound for both Bill Lawrence-produced series as a writer and performer. (Deadline.com, 6/11)
BETTER SISTER, THE (Amazon) - Gabriel Sloyer and Matthew Modine are the latest to board the Alafair Burke adaptation. Sloyer plays Jake Rodriguez, "a colleague of Adam's (Corey Stoll) at a high-level law firm in Manhattan. He and Adam are bonded by their outsider status at the firm, and over time he's grown close with the whole family. But that closeness is tested by Adam's murder." And Modine portrays "the powerful founding partner at Adam's (Corey Stoll) law firm, Bill Braddock, a man of appetites who can be an ally or a threat depending on the day." (Deadline.com, 6/13)
BLADE RUNNER 2099 (Amazon) - Hunter Schafer will join Michelle Yeoh on the film-turned-TV-series. No other details were released. (Deadline.com, 6/13)
BLUE BEETLE (New!) - Director Miguel Puga and writer Cristian Martinez are spearheading an animated series for Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios which "will build on the movie, developed under DC Studios' previous regime, but will divert from telling the same story." The movie's Angel Manuel Soto, Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer, John Rikard and Galen Vaisman are also expected to executive produce with "multiple [cast members] have been approached and DC has received a positive response regarding returns." No target network has given. (Deadline.com, 6/14)
BOYS, THE (Amazon) - Creator Eric Kripke took to social media with the news the series will end with the upcoming fifth season. Season four launched this past week. (therealKripke, 6/11)
COUNTDOWN (Amazon) - Eric Dane will star opposite Jensen Ackles and Jessica Camacho in the drama series as Nathan Blythe, "Special Agent in Charge who's been with the Bureau for 22 years. Military cut, trim, fit, and packing an imposing glare, he's seen a lot in his days on the job, and he has a passion for fighting for justice. Though this isn't his first task force he's led, this one is different. He had already been looking into a potential deal going on with a foreign player trying to buy off DHS officers, but was denied when he tried to open an investigation. After Darden's death, he took matters into his own hands and started going around certain people and keeping things tightly locked, including this opps team. He carefully assembled and handpicked everyone on it and doesn't hesitate to light a fire under them. He wants this solved by any means necessary." (Deadline.com, 6/10)
CRIMINAL (Amazon) - Marvin Jones III, Michael Xavier, Dominic Burgess, Gus Halper, Aliyah Camacho and Michael Mando are the latest to score roles on the series. Jones III will play Chester, "crime boss Sebastian Hyde's (John Hawkes) fearsome chief enforcer. Much like a seven-foot-tall man becoming a basketball player whether he likes it or not, Chester was drafted into the criminal life for his size and fearsomeness. He's no sadist, relying on his reputation and intelligence to get his way. He speaks softly most of the time, but the threat of sudden and deadly violence is always there." Xavier will play Terry, "another criminal, a good friend of Leo (Hunnam), a tough armed robber with a big heart, stepdad to Angie (Aliyah Camacho) and the love of Greta's (Adria Arjona) life." Burgess plays Delron, "a large man with a large appetite and large emotions. Delron is facing a trial in the next few days, and he's at the mercy of a few powers that be in the criminal organization he works for." Halper will portray Ricky, "an unstable guy who likes booze, coke, and speed (and not within moderation), Ricky Lawless has known Leo since they were teenagers. Like Leo, he's the son of a criminal - only his dad was the most-feared man in the city, Teeg Lawless." Camacho then will play Angie, "Greta's (Arjona) daughter. Angie is sharp, alert and maybe a little too adult for her age. Having lost her father at a young age, it is only she and her mom making their way through life. She has an idea of the kind of business her mom is in, no matter how much Greta tries to shield her." And Mando will play Jeff, "a plainclothes Vice detective who pretty much hates all of humanity, and he's looking to make a score screwing over anyone and everyone that is in his way. The kind of bad cop who uses his badge to shove others around and get them to do his bidding." (Deadline.com, 6/12)
DINKS (Amazon) - Jon Gabrus will star opposite June Diane Raphael and Paul Scheer in the multi-camera comedy pilot with Nicole Byer, Carl Tart, and Lennon Parham appearing in guest roles. Gabrus will play Ronan, "Josh's adult nephew renting Josh and Charlie's backhouse. He's 35 years old, going on 16, misguided yet street-smart, hopeful, and too lazy to be ambitious." (Deadline.com, 6/12)
EL GATO (Amazon) - Sarah Jones and Adriana Barraza will star alongside Diego Boneta and Lorenza Izzo in the series. Jones will play Ashley, "a CIA field agent working as our hero Frank's handler. Ash is good at reading people. She's a fast-talking cynic with something to prove. Ash believes the family agricultural business at the center of our series is a front for a criminal enterprise. As she develops Frank as a CIA asset, she will find herself dangerously drawn to him. She is well-trained, physically capable, and seemingly born for this. But it's a deadly game she's playing, and if she wants to survive this, she'll need to watch her back." And Barraza will play Alma, "who, in the 1970s, discovered her husband was living a double life: moonlighting as a costumed vigilante: El Gato Negro. Alma worked side by side with him for years, providing operational support for his missions. She is careful with her words, and vault-like in the keeping of secrets. Alma thought her old life was behind her, but now widowed, she finds herself pulled back into a world of masks. In the series, she will form an unlikely partnership with our hero, Frank - her husband's bastard son. It will test the openness of her heart. This is Alma, back in the saddle for one last ride." (Deadline.com, 6/11)
FOUND (NBC) - Danielle Savre will recur on the new 22-episode season in a yet-to-be-revealed role. (TVLine.com, 6/14)

(@jamesgunn, 6/12)
POWER BOOK IV: FORCE (Starz) - The spin-off's upcoming third season will be its last. "It is bittersweet to write the fulfilling ending of this chapter in Tommy's journey, a character myself and fans have grown to love over the past decade," said executive producer Gary Lennon in a statement. "Season 3 will question everything we thought we knew of Tommy's world and I promise you it will not disappoint! Although this may be the end of the road for Force, there is much more expansive, compelling storytelling for the characters within the Power Universe." (Deadline.com, 6/13)
ST. DENIS MEDICAL (NBC) - The network has picked up five more episodes of the upcoming comedy, bringing its season total to 18. (Deadline.com, 6/14)
TOKYO VICE (Max) - The streamer has confirmed the series won't return for a third season: "From Tokyo Vice's richly written material to the gorgeously composed shots to the lived-in performances, the care and creativity of this enormously talented cast and crew shines in every frame of the show. We thank J.T., Alan, Ansel, Ken, Fifth Season, and Wowow for their partnership on this wholly unique modern noir thriller." Added executive producers J.T. Rogers and Alan Poul: "Over the last five years Max has made sure we got to tell our story. They have supported us through thick and thin. Not only did they give us these two seasons, they said yes when we asked to end season one with a series of cliffhangers, and they said yes when we asked for two extra episodes so we could land the plane in the way J.T. had always envisioned. We're grateful not only to Max, but to our partners Fifth Season, who sold the show around the world, and made it a global success story. They were in the trenches with us always, guaranteeing that we could make the show we wanted to make. The response from both the press and from fans, in particular to Season 2, has been overwhelming. It's been thrilling to find out how deeply viewers have engaged with our characters, and to hear how they are clamoring for more. We know there is more story to tell. Of course we'll see what the future holds, but we are indeed grateful to have been able to share this story on Max until now." (Deadline.com, 6/8)
TRUST (HBO) - Todd Haynes has been set as writer and director of the Kate Winslet-led adapation of Hernan Diaz's novel: "In a story told from multiple, competing perspectives, a 1920s Wall Street tycoon amasses a sudden fortune but loses a beloved wife. Decades later, his attempts to control the narrative of his life are undone by a biographer who uncovers the ultimate secrets of the legendary marriage." Jon Raymond will co-write the project with both executive producing alongside Winslet, Diaz, Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler for Killer Films. (Variety.com, 6/12)
UNTITLED AMANDA KNOX PROJECT (Hulu) - Grace Van Patten is set to star in the streamer's limited series about Amanda Knox, succeeding Margaret Qualley. (Deadline.com, 6/13)
UNTITLED POWER RANGERS PROJECT (Netflix) - The streaming service has nixed its proposed live-action series based on the Hasbro Entertainment property. The latter is now "exploring a new creative direction for the series [with] a new partner." (TVLine.com, 6/11)
