DISCOVERY CHANNEL SCHEDULES 50 NEW HOURS OF ORIGINAL CONTENT TO PREMIERE IN THE FIRST HALF OF 2024

EIGHT NEW SERIES EXPAND DISCOVERY'S SCOPE WITH NEW WORLDS AND NEW CHARACTERS

BURBANK, CA (January 26, 2024) - Discovery Channel, the #1 non-sports cable network among Men 25-54, has added eight new series to its original programming slate. Set to premiere in the first half of 2024, the more than 50 hours of content will showcase interesting sub-cultures and fascinating characters who live life on their own terms. Further reinforcing its successful creative strategy, the network's focus is on untapped locations, professions and obstacles, including underground wrestlers in Tennessee, tow-truck drivers on the Las Vegas strip, mud racers in the Southern U.S., as well as the stories of high-stakes hustlers, gamblers and crooks from all over the country. The new slate, which premiered with BIG LITTLE BRAWLERS on January 9 and HUSTLERS GAMBLERS CROOKS on January 19, will attract audiences who seek out gritty, determined characters - especially those who are undaunted as they embrace adversity to achieve their dreams.

"Each of our new series are character-driven stories that tap into America's mainstream obsessions." said Howard Lee, President of Discovery Networks. "These shows will connect with our audiences as they are grounded in authentic lifestyles where people live out their passions to find success."

Descriptions of each new series are below.

AMERICA'S BACKYARD GOLD: There's an estimated $3 trillion in gold still waiting to be found in America - and there's no need for expensive equipment and huge investment to get it. In each episode, gold mining veteran Dave Turin shows everyday Americans how to get some for themselves. Using his unique techniques, Turin will show everyone how they can find hundreds, thousands, even MILLIONS, of dollars of gold - all right here in America's backyard.

BIG LITTLE BRAWLERS: In Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, the most ambitious little person wrestling league on the planet features an extraordinary group with larger-than-life personalities who must navigate ego, injury, and limitations - imposed by themselves and society - to achieve their piece of the American Dream.

CAUGHT! WILD & WEIRD AMERICA: This humorous clip show that showcases all the fun, wild, and stupid things that people do often in their own neighborhood.

EYE OF THE STORM: Everyone carries a smartphone camera, and most are quick to use it. So, what happens when thousands of cameras capture every imaginable angle of a life-changing natural disaster? This series tells the second-by-second story, crowdsourced from hundreds of eyewitnesses who found themselves caught in the right place at the wrong time, and brazenly held up their cameras to capture the eye of the storm.

HUSTLERS GAMBLERS CROOKS: This series features the experiences of high-stakes hustlers, gamblers, and crooks as told by the people who lived them. Structured like a Hollywood thriller, HUSTLERS GAMBLERS CROOKS is packed with gut-wrenching moments of people who risk it all.

MUD WILD: An authentically engaging series about the off-road subculture of extreme Big-Tire UTV Mud Racing and the passionate characters that drive the sport. Highlighting bold, custom vehicle builds and challenging mud courses, the series dives into the complex social dynamics, deep rooted rivalries and wild social party scene of mud racing. A loud, talented group of racers are disrupting the hierarchy, challenging the status quo and bringing viewers on one hell of a wild ride.

UNTITLED EXPEDITION SHOW: The stranger-than-fiction story about a group of ill-prepared survivalists who attempted a nearly impossible journey across South America.

VEGAS TOW: If you roll the dice and park your car illegally in Sin City, odds are you're going to lose that bet - and maybe lose your mind - when your vehicle gets towed. In Vegas Tow, viewers will ride shotgun as tow truck drivers patrol Vegas' streets and parking lots 24/7/365 and deal with the wrath of Vegas' craziest characters.
