Kim Hong Sun and Peter Mckenna join for the highly anticipated third season of Sky and AMC+'s critically acclaimed Gangs Of London

Produced by Pulse Films

Season three of the global hit Gangs of London has kicked off production, with this season of the Sky and AMC+ Original series masterminded by two creative talents new to the Gangs of London family, Lead Director and EP, Kim Hong Sun (Project Wolf Hunting) and Lead Writer and EP, Peter McKenna (Kin).

The high-octane BAFTA-winning and Emmy-nominated series, produced by Pulse Films, will also see Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù and Joe Cole reprise their roles as Elliot Carter and Sean Wallace, picking up from the cliff-hanger ending of season two.

In season three of Gangs of London, ex-undercover cop turned gangster Elliot is now operating as a top-level criminal alongside the Dumanis, but their business is thrown into chaos when their shipment of cocaine is spiked, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of civilians all over London. The ensuing chaos attracts attention from the authorities, putting the gangs of London under pressure like never before and the ripple effects - both personal and professional - will have devastating consequences for everyone from the Wallaces, to Luan, to Lale and the street gangs. This was a targeted attack and it's only the beginning, but the question is - who did it and why?

Taking the helm as Lead Director and Executive Producer for the eight-part third season of Gangs of London, Kim Hong Sun is a familiar face on the international film circuit, with a number of popular Korean film and television credits under his belt. Hong Sun's latest hit feature film, Project Wolf Hunting, is an action horror about a prisoner transfer between the Philippines and Korea gone wrong which premiered in the Midnight Madness section of the Toronto International Film Festival last year.

Hong Sun's recent work, including Metamorphosis (2019), played a critical role in the recent surge in popularity of occult horror in Korean cinema. Following the 2012 release of the gritty organ dealing thriller, Traffickers, his feature film directorial debut, Hong Sun was awarded Best New Director Award at the Blue Dragon Film Awards.

Joining Hong Sun as a creative lead on the project is acclaimed writer and showrunner, Peter McKenna, who boards as Lead Writer and Executive Producer. McKenna is an award-winning executive who was both the creator and showrunner of multi-season drama KIN for AMC+ and RTE, starring Charlie Cox, Clare Dunne, Aidan Gillen and Ciaran Hinds. As well, Irish crime drama, Red Rock, a four seasons drama for TV3 which was also acquired by BBC and Amazon Prime Video. His list of writing credits includes The Gloaming (ABC Studios/STAN), The Last Kingdom (Netflix), and Around The World in Eighty Days (BBC/ZDF/Canal+) starring David Tennant.

Other cast reprising their roles this season include Michelle Fairley in the role of Marian Wallace, Lucian Msamati as Ed Dumani, and Brian Vernel as Billy Wallace. All returning to the action thriller are; Pippa Bennett-Warner as Shannon Dumani, Narges Rashidi as Lale, Asif Raza Mir as Asif Afidi, Orli and Eri Shuka as Luan and Mirlinda Dushaj, Jahz Armando as Saba, and Fady Elsayed as Faz.

The award-winning series was created by Gareth Evans and Matt Flannery. Gangs of London is a Pulse Films production for Sky Studios and AMC+, AMC Networks' premium streaming bundle.

Creative credits for Gangs of London season 3 include Peter McKenna as Lead Writer and Executive Producer, Kim Hong Sun as Lead Director and Executive Producer, Hugh Warren as Executive Producer for Pulse Films, Michael Eagle-Hodgson as Series Executive Producer, and Vikki Tennant and Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù as Executive Producers. Adrian Sturges is Executive Producer for Sky Studios, while Noel Manzano Executive Produces for AMC+.

NBCUniversal Global Distribution handles international sales of the series on behalf of Sky Studios.
