Prime Video announces new UK Original comedy-thriller "Dead Hot"
Vivian Oparah as Jess and Ben Hasna as Elliot in Dead Hot
The six-part series will star rising British stars Vivian Oparah and Bilal Hasna alongside Penelope Wilton and Peter Serafinowicz.
Launching exclusively to Prime members in the UK and Ireland in 2024, Dead Hot is a compelling and twisty character-driven thriller created and written by Charlotte Coben (The Stranger, Stay Close) and executive produced by Nicola Shindler (It's A Sin, Happy Valley).
The show delves into the themes of class, love, and identity through the friendship of Elliot (Bilal Hasna) and Jess (Vivian Oparah) who are bonded by the trauma of losing Peter - Elliot's first love and Jess's twin brother.
Set in present-day Liverpool, five years after Peter mysteriously disappears, the two best friends spiral into a hedonistic lifestyle, partying to numb their grief while clinging to the hope that they will one day discover the truth behind Peter's disappearance.
When Elliot begins a new relationship with Will, he finally starts to put the past behind him - that is until he discovers that Will has his own dark secrets. Meanwhile, Jess is contacted by someone claiming to be Peter which sets off a chain of events that leaves the two friends questioning whether Elliot is romantically cursed - or being targeted.
This series is a must-watch for those who love a good mystery with a dramatic twist!
Dead Hot will join the thousands of TV shows and movies in the Prime Video catalogue including UK-produced Originals such as Clarkson's Farm, The Grand Tour, All or Nothing: Arsenal, The Devil's Hour, Mammals, Jungle, and James May: Our Man In Italy, and U.S. hits like The Boys and Reacher, as well as exclusive TV shows like Star Trek: Picard, Nine Perfect Strangers, and Little Fires Everywhere; movies like Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, and BAFTA-nominated Everybody's Talking About Jamie; plus live sport including ATP Tour and WTA Tour tennis.
