1883: THE BASS REEVES STORY (Paramount+) - Shea Whigham is the latest to recur on the limited series as Col. George Reeves, "the upright and incredibly cruel master of Bass Reeves." (Deadline.com)
CONSULTANT, THE (Amazon) - Executive producer Andrew Mittman has renewed his overall deal with MGM Television, home of his 1.21 banner. (Deadline.com)
DEVIL IN THE WHITE CITY, THE (Hulu) - The streamer has formally nixed the eight-episode series following the departures of star Keanu Reeves and director Todd Field. Producer ABC Signature hopes to find the project a new home elsewhere. (Deadline.com)
DROP-OFF (ABC, New!) - Ellie Kemper and Karan Soni are on track to star in a single-camera comedy pilot for the Alphabet based on the British series "Motherland." Writer Julieanne Smolinski and director Michael Showalter are behind the project, which "centers on Julia (Kemper), a working mom for whom nothing is working so she goes looking for her village. With the help of new friends Calvin (Soni) and Liz, Julia discovers she just might succeed at balancing work and parenting from time to time. This is a comedy for anybody who's dropped their kids at school, breathed a sigh of relief... then realized it's Sunday." Sharon Horgan, Clelia Mountford, Stacy Greenberg, Kira Carstensen, Paul Feig, Dan Magnante, Holly Walsh and Helen Serafinowicz will also executive produce for Merman Television, Feigco Entertainment, Lionsgate Television and ABC Signature. It's understood the show was previously set up at Hulu by Lionsgate before moving to ABC. (Deadline.com)
ERIN & AARON (Nickelodeon) - Ava Ro and Jensen Gering are set to topline the multi-camera comedy, which will launch on Thursday, April 20 at 7:30/6:30c. The series "follows teenage stepsiblings Erin and Aaron as they navigate their new lives after their parent's marriage, and find strength in their shared passion for music." The 13-episode series also stars Larisa Oleynik as Sylvia; David S Jung as Chuck; and Pyper Braun as Natasha. Creator Dicky Murphy, Sean Cunningham and Marc Dworkin are the executive producers with Samantha Martin as a co-executive producer and Wendy Faraone directs the first three episodes. JUDY JUSTICE (Freevee) - Sox Entertainment is looking to sell the show's library - about 260 episodes - to local TV stations for fall 2023 or fall 2024. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED GARY GLITTER PROJECT (Netflix, New!) - Sam Hobkinson is directing a three-part documentary series for the streamer about "the global hunt for disgraced pop star and convicted pedophile Gary Glitter, one of the most notorious figures in British public life." Voltage Films is behind the project with Cammy Millard producing and Sanjay Singhal as executive producer. (THR.com)
WALKING DEAD RICK AND MICHONNE SERIES (AMC) - Lesley-Ann Brandt will recur as Pearl Thorne in the six-episode spin-off series. No details about her character however were given. (Deadline.com)
ZORRO (Disney+) - Bryan Cogman has been tapped as writer, showrunner and executive producer of the proposed Wilmer Valderrama-led series. (Deadline.com)
