AVALON (ABC) - Demetrius Grosse has been cast in the David E. Kelley's latest offering for the network as Senior Deputy Dayo Musa, "who is assigned to Catalina Island, a post he's resentful of as he was not promoted to detective. His core value seems to be defiance. Cynicism informs his every move about working the island, but despite the harsh words and terse manner, he's got a really good heart." (Deadline.com)
BOB (HEARTS) ABISHOLA (CBS) - Gina Yashere and Matt Ross have been promoted to co-showrunners alongside Al Higgins and Chuck Lorre for the upcoming fourth season of the series. (Deadline.com)

GIRLS ON THE BUS, THE (HBO Max) - Brandon Scott has joined the cast of the upcoming drama as "the fiercest political flack in the game, who has just been hired as press secretary to the presidential front-runner"; with Griffin Dunne set to recur as Bruce Turner, "Sadie McCarthy's award-winning, grizzled editor and mentor at the paper of record"; Leslie Fray as Nellie Carmichael, "a junior correspondent at Liberty National News alongside Kimberlyn"; P.J. Sosco as "famed gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson"; Becky Ann Baker as Norah, "Sadie's protective mother, who is not happy that Sadie is re-entering the political arena"; Kyle Vincent Terry as Eric Jordan, "Kimberlyn's adoring and supportive boyfriend"; Tala Ashe as "an offbeat yet accessible progressive who is Lola's clear favorite in the presidential race"; and Richard Bekins as "a seasoned elder statesman and politician from the bygone days (1990s) who has been running for president since Sadie was in diapers." NORTH SHORE (Pramount+, New!) - Mike Bullen has booked a six-part series at the streamer which "follows the clash of cultures when British and Australian detectives team to solve a complex murder mystery, and uncover a conspiracy with international political consequences." SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES, THE (Disney+) - Joy Bryant has been cast in the book-turned-TV series as Helen Grace: "Helen is described as smart, loving, and strong. In the wake of her divorce, Helen uproots her family from their home in Brooklyn to her grandfather Arthur Spiderwick's estate in Michigan. A mother of three teenagers, she is doing everything she can to provide for her family while also trying to help her son Jared resolve his mental health issues." (Variety.com)
