LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- CBS has ordered three of its five drama pilots to series: "Fire Country" (fka "Cal Fire"), "East New York" and "So Help Me Todd" (fka "Mother & Son Esq. & P.I. Pilot").
Off-cycle pilot "True Lies" has been rumored for a midseason order as negotiations with producer 20th Television continue; while its proposed "Early Edition" reboot is not moving forward.
The Eye likewise passed on all four of its comedy projects: presentations "The Hug Machine," "Somber Companion" and "Unplanned in Akron," all from CBS Studios, as well as Warner Bros. Television-based "Rust Bell News."
