HBO Max Greenlights FBOY Island In Denmark, Spain, Sweden And The Netherlands

HBO Max today announced that local versions of Max Original breakout hit FBOY Island will be produced in Denmark, Spain, Sweden and the Netherlands. The 10x60" series will be produced by Warner Bros. International Television Production (WBITVP) in each territory.

FBOY Island series concept was created by Elan Gale ("The Bachelor" franchise) and follows three women who move to a tropical island where they're joined by 24 men - 12 self-proclaimed "Nice Guys" looking for love, and 12 self-proclaimed "FBoys," there to compete for cold, hard cash.

The women navigate the dating pool together with the hope of finding a lasting love connection. As the series progresses, all is revealed - who is a "Nice Guy", who is an "FBoy", and who the women ultimately choose. FBOY Island is a social experiment that asks an age-old question: can "FBoys" truly reform or do "Nice Guys" always finish last?

Annelies Sitvast, who heads up all unscripted Max Original productions commissioned and produced in EMEA, said, "FBOY Island comes to Europe with fantastic credentials having been a huge success in the US on HBO Max. What it also comes with is a fresh take on the dating series format; it's funny, self-aware and puts women front of centre of the decision-making process. These commissions represent our ambition to serve local audiences, broaden our slate and attract new audiences to HBO Max, while of course maintaining that unique approach to quality."

Antony Root who heads all Max Original productions in EMEA, said, "A key pillar of our Max original production strategy in Europe is to grow the unscripted slate. Taking the successful Max US format "FBOY Island" and adapting the franchise for multiple markets in our region reflects that ambition."

In the US, FBOY Island had the biggest launch for a Max Original reality series since the platform launched, with viewership growing week on week. The Washington Post hailed the series as "deliciously twisty," and TIME called it a "compelling and clever masterpiece" with "smart execution".

FBOY Island Danmark is produced by WBITVP Denmark. Executive producers for HBO Max are Annelies Sitvast and Christian Wikander.

FBOY Island España is produced by WBITVP Spain. Executive producers for HBO Max are Annelies Sitvast and Miguel Salvat.

FBOY Island Sverige is produced by Warner Bros. International Television Production Sverige AB. Executive producers for HBO Max are Annelies Sitvast and Christian Wikander.

FBOY Island Nederland is produced by WBITVP Netherlands. Executive producers for HBO Max are Annelies Sitvast and Sabine Feij

Season One Credits: FBoy Island is produced by STXalternative. The series concept was created by Elan Gale who is executive producing for TheYearOfElan Productions alongside Jason Goldberg for STXalternative, Ben Bitonti, Nikki Glaser and showrunner Sam Dean.
